Noted and marked in the calendar. **mipiace** There are so many reasons to choose Tucson over Phoenix. For starters Phoenix is in a valley, which holds heat & humidity. During the summer Phoenix is usually about 5-10 degrees (does anyone know the key-command for the degree symbol?) hotter then Tucson. When you are talking about whether that daily gets up into the 100’s and does not drop below 92 for 2~3 months, this matters. The humidity just makes it worse. It also makes swamp coolers completely ineffectual which means all cooling must be done with AC’s which can triple your electric bill. Socially speaking, AZ on the whole is a pretty conservative state. Most of the liberal folks living in AZ seem to end up in Tucson. Tucson is also not as built up, less concrete, a grand total, of I think, 3 hi-rises. As opposed to Phoenix which is a horrific concrete nightmare. Tucson is a good deal smaller in population (somewhere between 1/2 to 1/3 the size) with at least as many if not more cultural options (museums, theaters, etc). Oh, yeah… I was a comp sci major in college… and they made us take TWO frickin’ semesters of intermediate Physics! Not normal, everyday, American Physics… the REAL shit! It was one of the things that led to my college downfall. ---
