But, you can be obscure, at times. Update time! I met Monica for coffee, pre-party, yesterday. Good thing, too, because she had zero interest in me. Wouldn’t even make eye contact, most of the time. Too bad, too, because she was very attractive, and I liked her, aside from that. Oh, well. So, I didn’t go to the party; it would have been very uncomfortable, for both of us, I think. I went to the dopefest, such as it was, instead. Turned out to be just me and **Robot Arm**. And, an incredibly luscious young waitress. And, some yummy cherry pie. ---

I’ve rarely had such a struggle to keep a conversation going. We talked about movies, long enough to discover we share little in that realm. We talked about her coming from Jersey. Normally a good thing, in my book. Except that I mentioned having been to Newark, once, and found it to be a “horrible, industrial area”. Care to guess where she’s from? We talked about her love of travel and my distaste for same. I mean, Europe or Australia, sure. But, she volunteered to spend two weeks working for Sister Theresa’s organisation in Calcutta. She wants to go to Iran. What does one say to that? “Really? And, they let you run around loose?” As for the party, she clearly didn’t like me, at all, so there was no way I was going to trap myself in a room with her for another several hours. And, I doubt her friends would have felt any differently. Birds of a feather, and all that. It was a gathering of like-minded folk from various endeavors, mostly volunteer work. I believe there were supposed to be seven women there, but that could easily have resulted in my simply feeling seven times more worthless. But, maybe we should just call you Rocky, from now on. 🙂 Romance? Well, I saw Harmony, again, Sunday. I got the full details on her hellish divorce (and I speak as the veteran of two, myself…hers is hellish), and the other men (now down to one man) in her life. Then we had dessert. But, the preceding talk kind of took some of the luster off the frosting, if you know what I mean. And, it was pretty short, because she had to go pick up her daughter; only an hour, or so. But, it was still nice. Other than that, nada. I never did hear back from the other one that wanted to meet. I should probably follow up with her. But, this is why I wasn’t worried about all the juggling, earlier. I knew some of them would turn out to be illusory. (I’m not always as clueless as I was with Theresa.)
