Get this: ex’s grandfather played fiddle with the Homefolks, the original Carter Fold house band. “Aunt” June was 2nd cousin once removed and she and Johnny were present at many family reunions. I shared iced tea with Johnny on a porch swing under a maple tree. June accused me of trying to steal her husband. (I was 20) and demanded that I rub her feet as retribution. She plopped down in a lawn chair, propped her feet in my lap, and I talked with them about marriage, family, and antiques for an hour. Johnny held my hand when he told me he loved my laugh!!! I had such a crush- he is so very cool. Each time I saw Johnny after that, he gave me a big hug and called me Blue Eyes- he probably didn’t remember me from a thousand other smitten blue-eyed girls, but I blushed each time he grinned at me, anyway. ---

Good grief you all got verbose overnight again! Ok Lessee… I am probably the least babe-o-licious of the Davebear babes at the moment because _I really NEED TO HAVE THIS FREAKING BABY!_ (for those of you who missed my thread he’s almost twice the size most kids his ‘age’ are! We don’t make little babies it seems) Give me a few months and I may feel babe-like again. Favorite food and drink: good pizza or a quality cheeseburger and chocolate milk. Music most likely to accompany your commute to work: I have no commute to work but if I did I would play whatever on the radio struck me that day, especially stuff I can sing along with. Favorite art (be specific) poetry, painting, photography, music, architecture, or fill in the blank: I’m not really into art. I’ve taken drawing and painting and cartooning classes but never really got into any of it. I do love music but my taste runs a little strange. I love twangy old country and 60’s acid rock and angry music. Pet of choice: I have to choose? I have a dog, 4 cats and a hamster. Take a look at their pics if you want and you figure out my favorite! (You can find them all by pressing the www button that accompanies my posts) Underwear: matched or jauntily mismatched? Like I have the time or inclination to match stuff that’s just going to get puked on drooled on or spilled on?! :eek: Maybe someday when my unmentionables aren’t from the maternity store and I have the same bra size for six months straight … I dream of matching frederick’s stuff! If any Davebear Babe feels comfortable adding a blurb to describe their off-board personality, please feel free. Well I can be an incredible bitch to those who I feel deserve it. If you screw with my family you will find that out. Despite my apparent status as a Davebear Babe… I’m really not babe like at all. I do not follow the female preening thing, hate makeup, prefer a baseball cap and pony tail to any realy style for my hair, spend all my time in jeans and comfy shirts and sneakers. I never drink alcohol, ever, I had too much of it forced upon me as a child. This does not mean I want to be the designated babysitter or anyone’s den mother. My favorite occasions are ones filled with friends and music and food, I love playing hostess and having cookouts and dinners and stuff like that. Oh and Monopoly is not just a game anymore - it’s an obsession 🙂 ---

I feel pretty at home between my shitty German and my fluent Italian. BTW Optuhut. I’ve been to Achen and Dusseldorf. I lived in western Germany in Rhineland Pfalz near the Mosel (Trier) . It’s beautiful but very quiet and the weather was kind of depressing for this Florida girl. Too much rain and too cold!!! But amazingly gorgeous countryside, incredible wine and I lived the fests. Went evet year to Berncastle Kues…it’s about this time of year I think. ---

Okay here goes my Daves Babes pix: 1. Favorite food and drink: Seafood, mostly shellfish but I also totally dig Thai food but it has to be very spicy. I like the spicy sweet combo Drink? Hmm Redbull & vodka 1. Music most likely to accompany your commute to work: depends on my mood but I like something to get me going so probably metal rap, (Linkin Park, Guano Apes, Papa Roach, Chili Peppers) but my taste varies…I like blues too, and latin, jazz, a lot of stuff 2. Favorite art (be specific) poetry, painting, photography, music, architecture, or fill in the blank: I like renassaince sculpture and painting (Michalangelo, DaVinci, Raphael) I also enjoy Thomas Waterhouse, As a poet I like ee cummings, and there isn’t much music I don’t like but it depends on my mood. 3. Pet of choice: I have four dogs and two fish tanks. 4. Underwear: matched or jauntily mismatched? I am obsessive about having my underwear matched and it always matches my outer clothing…I don’t know why. 5. If any Davebear Babe feels comfortable adding a blurb to describe their off-board personality, please feel free. I am probably much more boring off board than I am on board and much bitchier. I do have three kids and two jobs and have to take care of business a lot so there are a lot of times I just can’t take any shit…I have great plans of retiring early and I have an expensive life style to maintain - no fucking off allowed!! Why, **Psalex,** how nice of you to ask. Here are my current faves, which change arbitrarily, and every half hour. Or so. BTW, you didn’t grace us with yours? Food/Drink- There is a place in Reno called La Strada’s that makes the BEST Osso Buco I have _ever_ had. Drink: The older I get, the more I prefer a good bottle of red wine to hard liquor, but depending on my mood, I will occasionally imbibe of Henry Louis Tres (only occasionally due to price tag), Souza Tres Generaciones Tequila or Tuaca. **Wyatt** whimpered his way out of my challenge; I assume there must be one REAL man in this thread who can keep up with me. Music: Hm. There is driving music, and there is driving music. On the way to work, usually Metallica, _always_ from And Justice for All or previous, Green Day, something, ANYTHING to help the coffee wake me up. On the way home, something a leetle more relaxing, Pink Floyd or Santana or Dire Straits. If I’m just driving to drive…hm. Probably something mindless that will keep my mood up, as I love road trips. Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, that type of thing. Favorite art: This is a tough one. Currently Maxfield Parrish. I just managed to get a couple of originals as a Christmas present and I’m still staring at them every day. But I do love good architecture, and a rail trip through Europe is on my “someday” list so I can go check out where my grandfather was born in Italy, as well as all the touristy stuff. Pet: always, always a cat. I won’t live in a house without one. The current one is a large ginger tom who is of the attitude that I am his personal slave. (well, duh, he’s a cat) Underwear. Hm. Well… k. Sounds like “true confessions” time. I don’t wear underwear. I have precisely 3 pair, and only because my mom got me some for my birthday as a gag gift. Brassieres, yes, and pretty lacy ones, at that, but no underwear. Can’t stand 'em. Personality? Same ball busting evil bitch I am here, of course. ---

I _love_ chocolate. 😃 But if you mean _real_ food… A good homemade roast, slow cooked so it’s falling apart with carrots, potatoes and big, beautiful hot rolls (I have a bread thing too). Drinks? I usually drink water. But soda-wise I drink Pepsi, and if it’s alcohol I really like Mike’s Hard Lemonaide. 🙂 2. Music most likely to accompany your commute to work: I’m like Tanookie, I stay home. But my fav cd right now is the Daredevil soundtrack. But I’ll listen to any music style (metal, country, classical, pop, oldies, etc) except for rap. 3. Favorite art (be specific) poetry, painting, photography, music, architecture, or fill in the blank: I love to take pics, I like to write poetry, enjoy singing and listening to all sorts of music, I’d like to try my had at painting, though it’d end up looking rather abstract I’m sure. I prefer the impressionistic era of paintings. 4. Pet of choice: We recently got a kitten. But I love dogs too… preferibly the bigger breeds, not littler “yapper” dogs. 😉 5. That is funny as shit Wyatt…you know Babbelfish only translates literally. and you can’t translate word for word. The song is about a lonely guy (who incicentally is rather obese) who meets awoman on a train and she is coincidentally rather obese as well. (that part isn’t in the words of the song but in the video) Anyway - they go out and she isn’t all tht impressed but they do fall in love over a plate of pasta. they move intogether and her mama comes to visit…I don’t remember all of the words but eventually she marries someone else and he is heartbroken but the other guy is not so nice…they end up together in the end. IT’s a happy ending. Mi piace - he likes ehr despite her faults. Ti voglio bene…yeah “I want you well” but no…that is literal it means I want you, like…I want you in my life. I want you around…Again… you have to be in the culture…Funny. I can’t remember anything about a dog… ---

Oh and Studmuffin? No, he is from a long, long line of Americans, actually British-English. I’m bettin’ he can trace lineage alllllll the way back to the revolution and as far as I can tell the only thing he is would be southern, and not a cracker type southern. One of those annoying blue-blood, both my parents went to the right schools and I coulda’ been a legacy except I wanted to go to a better school…[sigh]…you wouldn’t believe it. His mother was an Atlanta debutante. His father comes from old Houston money. They met in college. His mothers grandparents had land and horses in Kentucky. Old, rich southerners…all of 'em. ---
