Opened it once by mistake (truly, I was scrolling while the page was loading), opened it when Unclebeer closed it to see why he closed it. I don’t think that you can claim the high view rate was necessarily due to an awestruck audience playing along in lurkdom. Have you guys considered setting up an email list if chat’s not in tune with your infinites? That way you can have your fun and not bog down the hamsters. ---

I read it when it first started, then quickly abandoned it. BTW, I’m pretty sure that every time someone posts to a thread, the view count gets bumped (unless you stop the browser before it redisplays the page with your post on it). And of course, you have to open the thread to post to it. A 10-to-1 view-to-post ratio is pretty typical of a lot of threads; I wouldn’t consider it high at all. Just look at any of the forum pages and you’ll see much higher ratios than that. ---

First time I tried to open it the hamsters died and I never got to read it. Next time I thought to check it it was at page 5 so I just never bothered reading it. ---

Actually when it got long, I did a little reading in some of the other threads and LJ areas that were discussing it. And, from what folks who are far more researched, knowledgeable and educated than I, from changes made in the systems that the board runs on, some time back, the size of any individual thread doesn’t affect the performance of the hamsters or their burden. Or so I’ve read … ---

Well…Two important reasons I kept lurking were 1. the humour, 2. the very positive attitude towards flirting. I never knew flirting could be such an art. But it can. And I’ve become an appreciator, and even tried my hand at it, a little. ---
