No need to pay a visit to Dignitas. If you’re in Switzerland anyway, why not just do me a favor and pop on over to Lucerne and get me some photos of the place, a big Toblerone, and maybe a watch (I think they have a little watch store down by the lake). If you’re not in Switzerland, and you’re bummed about turning old, maybe…go there and chill for a bit. ETA: Groupon for Dignitas = Death Metal Band Name! ---

Meh. 60 was so five years ago. If you don’t want to be 60, there are certainly ways to prevent it. I, for one, prefer getting older than any alternative. ---

I’ll hit 60 in the next few months. My body is suffering the usual amount of slings and arrows, but my brain still thinks it’s at a Beavis and Butthead level of maturity. We’ll both be fine. And remember the wise words of Groucho: a man is as young as the woman he feels. ---

60 is when things start falling apart. Like a car with over 150,000 miles. Something always needs to be fixed and it feels like you’re giving all your money to the mechanic. But you’ve grown attached to this car. And you learn to live with that rattle or the window that won’t always go up. I mean, the car got you this far and you have a lot of good memories. With a little TLC its probably got another 50K left in it. Maybe more. Make sure sure your mechanic is honest and disconnect the odometer. Who cares how many miles it has on it? You’re going drive it 'til it drops. “Hey! How many miles you got on that baby?” “I don’t know. Its running pretty good and I’m driving to the Grand Canyon to go rafting. After that I’m doing the Al-Can highway.” I just turned 60 and I agree with the “Old as you feel” school of thought. Up til about a year ago I felt 40, maybe 45. Now its more like 50! I just hope the accelerator isn’t stuck! In any case, I’m off to a beer festival. (Ubering to save on wear and tear on the car). ---
