A missive from ‘Crazytown’… Clarence speaks!! Kinda hard to determine what he’s sayin’. Noise does come out of his nasty little pie-hole. The Chihuahuas were giving him grief this morning and I heard an unfamiliar voice say something to the effect of “leave me the hell alone!” It was squeaky, schreechy and horrible. Similar to the sound of a door creaking in a haunted house. Shut them Chihuahuas right down, it did. Add Clarence’s beee-autiful smile and it’s nightmare time. I’m tellin’ y’all…“that 'possum ain’t right!!” beck…living on the edge. ---

So…again I was out searching for Clarence this afternoon. The grandwrex were “helping” The littlest grandwrex hollered “Nana, Nana he has changed colors” She was pointing down toward the pond. I sez “What?!” I look and see a completly mud encrusted Clarence. He was very red. Now, folks I can’t imagine Clarence jumping in the pond. I can imagine he went for a drink to wet his hisser. And fell in. Possibly. Don’t know. He started drying out. Man oh man I wanted to clean him. Give him a bubbly bath and spray smell good on him. He stinks folks. Kinda bad. I was warned over and over. Not a good idea. Jeez, peeps. I know he’s a wild animal. I’m not exactly a newbie around here. So I sat staring at him til he dried to a muddy glob. You’d think an animal would roll around on the grass or rub up against a tree. Surely even 'possums would rather not be coated in dry redclay mud. Yeah. Clarence is getting a bath. Somehow. Any ideas other than a cage and a high-pressure hose? ---

i’d wait for a good rainstorm. I imagine a hosing would be quite traumatic for the beast, and smelling clean could harm his chances with the ladies.\* \*remember Rasputin (another good possum name). ---

I’m pretty sure he’s a gutter drunk. He likes the can cage we have. He’s always hanging around it. A couple of drops from each can and he’s on his back, feet in the air. Sleeping it off. Drunk 'possum is a funny sight. ---

Well, Dopers, one and all. Mark this day in your Diary. Tell your friends and Family: Beckdawrek is a veritable genius. Yes, yes I am!😏 I put a pan of plain kitty litter on the deck. I put some of my bestest ever, homemade liver treats on a paper plate and sat it in the pan of cat litter. Clarence was immediately interested. He jumped in and munched his treats. I stood a little ways back and gently sprinkled seven dust on his back. He started rolling in the litter. Created a dust cloud. Then he went to sleep in the pan. I swear I surprise myself somedays. Now to get a collar and tag on him. 😁 ---
