I swear to God. Clarence purrs. Or purr-ed, as it were.
He was AWOL yesterday. This morning before we left for Dialysis I was on the deck, waiting for a slow poke. I heard a rumble.
A low but distinct sound. Almost a bubbly water sound.
I looked around and saw no happy cats or flatulent dogs.
I listened carefully and heard a scratchy sound underneath the deck. A sound Clarence regularly makes. And I knew.
Yep.
'Possums purr.
Well, blow me down.
On my deck I have a puppy pee rug. It looks like AstroTurf. Sits in a tray and is cleanable.
My little Yorkie Gracie (RIP) used it everyday. It’s sat virtually unused since she died. The demon Chihuahuas use it occasionally.
Guess who is puppy pad trained?
I looked over this afternoon and Clarence was sitting on it.
Yep.
I have a genius among 'possums on my hands.
I wonder if he’s food motivated? I’m thinking tricks.
We’ll go on TV. Make YouTube vids. Get rich and famous.
Next thing you know me and Clarence will sunning ourselves in the South of France.

Yeah she was a good pupper.
She loved me like no other animal ever has.
She never noticed any other animals. Might have had one run in with the cats.

The kids and assorted dogs were on the lawn playing tag this afternoon.
I knew Clarence was under the deck.
I was just watching.
All of a sudden the screaming and giggling was louder and I look up and Clarence has ran(well, not exactly ran, but bobbled his way) across the yard and was in the middle of the action.
Kids were screeching. The Chihuahuas were screeching.
Dillon the villian was yapping.
Bayliss backed off. Literally walked backwards, away from Clarence. I’ve never seen a dog do that.
Awww. Clarence wanted to play.
I feel like he was ostracized.
He can’t help he’s ugly and gross.

Clarence stuck his head out from under the deck. I had the dogs going to walk. I told Clarence to stay out of the heat.
When we came back, Clarence was on the bottom step.
I said Hello 'possum! I don’t think he knows his name very well.
I got doggie feet washed and put them in the house to get water.
Sat on the deck.
Clarence walked out and saw a squirrel run across the lawn. He gave chase.
The squirrel went up a pecan tree.
Clarence put his hands on the tree truck.
I’ll be danged.
Clarence is a squirrel hunting 'possum. Yes, yes he is.
That 'possum ain’t right.
So, how long do we need to wait to hear about the tree frog? What? Does he sing and dance? Wear a Top Hat and carry a cane? Everything else is straight outta a Loony Tune, why not him?

Mostly Horace sits in a spruce tree and croaks.
