I think you went about it the wrong way. Instead of trying to take down the other person, you should have (IMHO) try to ‘appeal’ the warning. This worked for me one time, someone hit the panic button on one of my posts, which I got a mod warning. After apologizing to the person of how they took my post (not how I typed it - it’s not my fault if they can’t read), I sent a e-mail to the mod stating that my post did NOT do what the accuser stated nor what the official mod warning was for and I wanted to appeal it, which I got a response that they agreed with me, though they basically downgraded it to general rudeness. I have noticed that there are, unfortunately, some ‘tattletale’ posters who look to call a mod, usually when they can’t handle the thread. ---

IOW - perhaps it’s not a fucntion of the quality (or lack thereof) of the moderators that generates the number of verbal ‘smack downs’ (vs. moderator warnings) of any particular poster, and rather more likely to be the function of the quality (or lack thereof) of the individual poster. as a test of that theory, you may wish to also count up the number of ‘verbal smack downs’ you get from other posters on a regular basis. Don’t rush, we don’t expect the report for another decade or so. ---

The last time I got stomped on by **Tubadiva** , it was because of a misunderstanding. I was trying for a joke, and was misunderstood. One e-mail was all it took to solve the problem. But I suppose it’s easier to whine and moan than to take constructive acts to ameliorate the problem. ---
