I just now had a chance to watch. Is it just me or is it also horribly dubbed on top of everything else? It’s like a Godzilla movie or something.
I’ve been reflecting upon this thread a bit since my last post. A couple of thoughts:
-My biggest gripe with the commercial is the stereotypical “I could have done it better”. I would have gone for more of a “there goes Max again with his corny wordplay again” thing, expecting everyone else at the table to roll their eyes. One of the other actors seems to get it, but the main dude doesn’t quite seem to get it.
-If the dude who actually did land this commercial spent the whole time lamenting that he wasn’t performing the work of his favorite playwrights, then he’s a pretentious jackass who deserves whatever shame he’s manufactured for himself.
That’s the first thing, I thought, too. And your Joe Ezterhas commercial made me laugh, really loud.
