# Ohio Issue 1 (anti-gerrymandering): What would it actually change?

Thanks for starting this thread, for anyone who wants to catch up on some of the previous shenanigans of Ohio Republicans [we’ve had controversial issues on the ballot going back a few years now](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/ohio-issue-1-re-threshold-to-bring-a-constitutional-amendment-to-vote-election-on-aug-8-2023-it-was-voted-down/987136).

The most amazing thing about this Issue is the [absolute mockery of the ballot language that Frank LaRose approved.](https://www.ohiosos.gov/globalassets/ballotboard/2024/certifiedballotlanguage_2024-09-18.pdf)

Seriously, everyone should read that. It’s like they don’t even care about _pretending_ to be impartial anymore.
