Wow. All it took was nominating a twice removed anti-constitutionalist who likes fondling teenaged girls, hates minorities, and is is an all around repugnant human being for the Republicans to lose (temporarily) a Senate seat in Alabama. While it is nice Moore wasn’t elected this time, let’s not pretend Alabama is a shining beacon of rationality. ---

Ahh, right. Jones didn’t win; Moore lost. Which may be somewhat the case, but the thing is that Trump is as despicable as Moore, so this acts as a good barometer come 2020. ---

I’ll wait for the republican party to get done throwing the kitchen sink at this loss to see if they can invalidate it before I get good and settled in my celebration. I won’t let that stop me from enjoying myself for just a moment, though. **HA-HA!** Christ, I need to feel good about something in this country. I gotta grab a happy feeling any time one gets within arms-reach, and if it’s fleeting, all the more reason to grab it. I’m so heartened that Alabama didn’t elect this man. I realize it was far, far closer than it should have been, but I’m making allowances that this IS Alabama, and that it’s pretty close to a miracle that even a kiddie-diddling republican could lose to a democrat. ---
