# OK, anytime now, Beta-chan

I’m not making an official entry in the pool, but I’ll point out that if Beta-chan remains latched on until 23 Oct at 6:57 AM, she’ll share a birthday with me (adjust to US Eastern time if you want, but keeping it in Tokyo time would save 12 hours or so). Of course, that would push Beta’s gestation out to almost 10 months and Mrs. Player would probably be on the first trans-Pacific flight after she healed to visit grievous harm upon me for suggesting it.

I’m checking this thread twice a day, once in the morning before work, and once sometime in the late afternoon or evening. I keep hoping I’ll see news that Beta-chan is on the way to our world.
Now we need to fix her up with another Doper baby, and have an SDMB “charmed couple!”

Yes, I wonder whether Beta-chan’s arriveal will be heralded by a post in this thread, a post in a completely-new thread, or… silence because the participants are otherwise occupied. If there’s anyone in the world I want to be a father, it’s **TokyoPlayer**. He writes so eloquently.

:o Ah shucks. I don’t know how well I write, but thanks.
My mother is flying in on Wednesday, her mother this Friday (or Saturday) and we’ll getting all set. I’m in the middle of a huge project at work (bad timing!) so’m really busy. ☹
I’ll update this thread to let people know what isn’t happening but do look for a word or two when Beta makes her grand appearance!

My wife goes in tomorrow morning for a check-up to see how the progress is. Her preference is that everything is moving quickly, and she would have to stay there!
My mother wants Beta-chan to wait for her, and there’s lots of evil people, according to my wife!, who want her to be born on the 10th!

She’ll go in, and the doc will tell her she’s ready and will induce labor. Plenty of time for a September 30th delivery around 11:32pm. 😃
Probably not, but at least Mrs. **TokyoPlayer** will be happy to get it over with.

The OBs in Japan are much less intervention-happy that those in the US. I don’t think an induction is coming.
My guess is October 8 at 2:45 PM. (Hopefully that means she got a good night’s sleep before going into labor. Yeah RIGHT!)

When I was pregnant, I went for my check up, the Doc said I had at _least_ two weeks to go. Evidently, my daughter had other opinions, and her opinion is the one that counted, she was born 3 days later.
I assume your crap is packed already? If you do not know it yet, you will learn it soon. Babies are quite willful little creatures.

I want to note that I am not one of the Dopers that should be on the List because I was going to say October 9, being my grandma’s birthday, but I chose the 1st out of mercy – while I haven’t had a baby I know those last few weeks you just want the kid _out_.
Besides, I want to (if virtually) meet this baby! The sooner the better!
