Growing up in south Alabama, I knew a lot of mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging racists who reacted to Republican victories much the same way an Alabama Crimson Tide fan might react to an Iron Bowl win - juvenile taunts, silly [insert group here] jokes, etc. I have to wonder about the class of person who reacts to political victories the same way a chaw-stained hillbilly reacts to a football game. ---

**Bricker** , I’ve come to admire you quite a lot over the years, in spite of my first (and admittedly ridiculous) instinct to lump you into the same pile as posters like the smug, spiteful and intellectually cadaverous **Shodan**. I’m honestly surprised by how much your OP disappoints me, and it actually makes me sad. Maybe it’s the greater fact that the McCain campaign has succeeded in lowering the tone of the election and reviving the disgusting divisiveness of the Bush campaigns. And I see the frothing liberals and understand where you’re coming from, but it makes me wonder: Can’t you see that you are being had? ---
