Hey, Casey! Chill, Dude. I wasn’t entirely serious, but it did seem that you meant something along the lines of the last scene from _Mallrats_. While I won’t get in to the ‘deserved’ justice dispute, I would like to put my $0.02 in here. I don’t believe pedophilia is curable. I believe that it is similar to an addiction, and one of the main requirements of rehabilitation is willpower. Now, don’t twist my words. I AM NOT likening people with any type of substance abuse problem to the inhuman freaks that prey on children. I am not willing to risk my future children’s well being over whether or not one sick individual has the willpower to keep themselves from relapsing into depravity. Especially if, as was mentioned above, this type of behavior is hardwired into the brain from an early age. I would think that would make the urges much more powerful than the physical and mental urges that drive a substance addiction. And, if logic follows, a lot less easier to overcome. As for the monster in the OP, these urges must have been very, very strong in order for him to stalk this little girl and assault her in this very public setting, considering the risk of being caught was very high. I for one am not willing to gamble with my child or any other. I am not willing to accept that there is any chance that he may hurt another child. And there is no guarantee that anyone in the corrections department, the medical field, or his own damn mother can make to change my mind. If never being allowed to come near another child means life in prison, so be it. But neither do I want to support him for the next 50 years either. I was always taught that it was best to scream “FIRE!” rather than “No!” or even “Help!” because the shouts of “FIRE!” are sure to draw more attention. “NOOOOO!” could just be little Johnny pitching a fit because Mommy won’t buy him candy or a toy or something. Yelling “FIRE!” is much more uncommon in a store (or on a busy street, for that matter) and will likely result in attention coming faster. Of course, anything is better than just going along with a “security guard” unchallenged and without your parents. Intimidation is such an effective weapon when used on children…☹ ---
