From the guys who brought you [the now-famous treadmill dance video](http://youtu.be/dTAAsCNK7RA)for their song “Here It Goes Again,” [the remarkable Rube Goldberg machine](http://youtu.be/qybUFnY7Y8w)for their song “This Too Shall Pass,” who [incorporated dogs into their choreography](http://youtu.be/nHlJODYBLKs)with remarkable results for their song “White Knuckles,” and [who went through 215 loaves of bread to animate toast](http://youtu.be/IkYfB1C0Zgc)for their song “Last Leaf,” comes a new video featuring the muppets. OK GO is on a new Muppet-themed compilation album, performing [Muppet Show theme song](http://youtu.be/Xf_S2lonr48), and the video will hit YouTube [on Aug 23 (this coming tuesday).](http://youtu.be/baTnoMX-QaI) Just FYI. I think the song sounds pretty cool, one of the highlights of the album for me. Cool, that there’s going to be a video! [The Thread I started](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=620475) got 167 views- so it seems other Dopers are interested . . . . . . and of 167 views it got zero replies- so it seems other Dopers actually are _not_ all that interested. (many views, zero replies always bewilders me) Anyway, looks like [the NPR link is still allowing a listen to the entire album.](http://www.npr.org/2011/08/14/138984517/first-listen-muppets-the-green-album) I stand by my “Highlights List” from the other Thread. ---

I LOVED The Muppet Show so I listened to some of the NPR stream the other day and I absolutely hated it. ---

I had a feeling I wasn’t going to like this after I heard the sans Muppet version and, while this is better, it just doesn’t have a certain something that I can’t quite pinpoint. I love the Muppets (the ol’ screen name attests to that) and I love OK Go, but the mix feels somehow devoid of the things that makes both great. I guess I was more hoping for something that felt [a bit like this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrdZwWIhdXs). ---
