I hate people who do this, but this is one of the few times I actually can: I liked this band BEFORE they were popular and making crazy music videos (2001). Now, they’re just annoying and I want them to go away. It sucks, but it’s still true. ---

Speaking as another long-time OK Go fan, it seems to me that this is _exactly_ what they’ve always wanted to do. Their “crazy” videos have an exuberance and joy that’s all-too-missing from the self-important egomaniacs dominating today’s popular music. I mean, come on, who _wouldn’t_ want the opportunity to star in your very own Rube Goldberg machine - designed to follow music that you yourself wrote? ---

My favourite of their videos is perhaps lesser known, it being the alternative to the Rube Goldberg song, _This Too Shall Pass_; It’s a [marching band](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJKythlXAIY) themed video. I also listened to a podcast with them on [nerdist.com](http://www.nerdist.com/2010/04/nerdist-podcast-12-ok-go/) and they seem like really nice guys.
