# OK, I don't believe in ghosts, BUT...

It was the cat.

A loud thud is the sound cats make upon re-entry from _CatSpace_. (\*CatSpace \* is the alternate reality where cats go to hide when you know good and damn well they’re in the room with you but you can’t find them then they take your warm spot on the couch when you’re not looking.)

The cat. Definitely.
