Red lights, traffic (mostly pedestrians), and refilling my water bottle cut the speed down a bit. My speedometer calculates a rolling average, and it’s always around 14 mph. When conditions allow, I’m usually between 15 and 19, depending on the wind.
Keep at it. Some people just lose weight more slowly than others. My body really likes to hold on to my weight. I’ve been dieting and working out regularly for 8 months. I’ve lost ten pounds. Don’t let other people’s weight loss stories scare you or frustrate you. Pay more attention to your eating and add more good, healthy foods in. Try to reduce the high calorie empty foods when you can. I find that cutting them out completely before I’m ready just causes a horrible backlash effect where I eat more bad foods. Just basically try to have healthy habits and the weight loss will eventually come.
Well, that’s true too. And while I should be grateful that I’ve lost 20 pounds without a whole lot of food struggles, I’ve also noticed that my weight will plateau for a while, then I’ll lose three pounds in a week. It’s very uneven.
