AFAIK I don’t think they’d need a cow to ingest to grass to see if any radioactive material is being passed along – couldn’t they just wave a geiger counter over the grass itself? As conspiracy theories go, this one is kind of quaint, I think: radiation is a MYSTERIOUS FORCE rather than something that’s been well understood and applied in medicine and industry for decades now. ---

Ok you guys,youve had your fun now can we settle down,I didnt know this wasnt a board for the um,unconventional. I DONT think cattle mutilations are the work of aliens. And why aliens is even mentioned in this thread is your doing,not mine. Btw and FYI John Mack of Harvard,or the late John Mack I should say insisted that the so called abductees be tested for mental illness before accepting them into his program. But this thread is not about Aliens,its about looking at something like Cattle Mutes only looking at them without having made up your minds,btw how the heck you guys made up your mind as you did is a bit of a puzzlement.I already pointed out Predator and the use of the word to cover a whole host of non-existant animals.Oh,you dont think thats right,I am. Just remember this is NORTH america,not africa.List if only in your own mind the types of predators present here in North America and it will get you thinking.Once the light comes on with this subject its nearly blinding. ---

So, let me get this straight, you didn’t have much interest in the subject until you read _one_ report which made you take interest. And then _dozens_ of Dopers point out the more logical explanation (ever hear of Occam’s razor? If not, it goes thusly: “the simplest explanation is more than likely the logical one.” Holds true for damn near everything) and that doesn’t change your mind because you’d rather stick with the _one_ piece of evidence you have rather than the _dozens_ of more simpler facts we’ve pointed out. Must be pretty convincing. Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. In the words of that great philosopher, Philip J. Fry: “insane theories 1, regular theories, a billion!” ---

Animals that I can image attacking cattle would include large cats like cougars, and dogs including coyotes and wolves. We also do have some very large birds of prey in North America.
