I think Guest starring was not suggesting that he should vote his landlords way. Rather he was suggesting that he should cast his landlords vote _for him_, so the landlord did not have to go to the polls himself. (and presumably NOT cast the landlords vote for a Republican) ---

You might be right. Still: renting a floor/room in a house and having nothing at all between you and a Psycho but either wood flooring or drywall… neither of which is even close to bullet resistant, let alone bullet proof. It’s a sobering thought (and I’ve paid good money not to be sober this close to Christmas). ---

I have contact with my tenant under two circumstances. Something is broken or the rent is late. Thanks to the covid relief programs, it is now the former (exterminator and new washing machine this week). Rent hasn’t been late since she hasn’t been responsible for it - coming up on 18 months now. I couldn’t care less about her political views and I’d guess she feels the same. ---

He’s already demonstrated by not being vaccinated that he doesn’t understand that killing people is wrong. He lacks one of the most basic morals that we would expect. And now we know he’s being riled up enough to want to bring his gun to defend a non-existent right. I would not feel comfortable having any interactions with such a person, even if I wasn’t paying them. I think the rise of so much crazy has dulled people’s senses about how dangerous these sorts of red flags really are. I genuinely would not trust the man described not to try and hurt me—at least once his preferred media gets him riled up enough. ---

As in, the landlord lives on site and they sit around in the landlord’s apartment. I even got the feeling that they don’t have other friends, so “have no choice”. In which case, I’d say "You NEED to get other friends, or at least another place to be. And you need boundaries, especially from people who could potentially go off half-cocked (no, in this case fully-cocked). Though I suppose it works either way. If I were the OP, I’d probably ignore it if it was just mentioned once in passing. But if it gets repeated regularly, or sounds like he’s getting serious about it, I’d strongly consider calling the police. This decision would be even easier if you knew that he’d said the same thing to other people so it couldn’t be directly tracked back to you. ---
