Sorry to keep y’all dangling. There’s nothing new except that Meter Man is not as sketchy as we thought.
That airport pickup deal? He runs an airport shuttle service in his spare time, so it was business–not friendship–that had him loading her luggage into his trunk. She paid him with the company credit card, so it all checks out.
I’m waiting for the detectives to come and confiscate her computer to mine it for cyberclues–THEN this saga will be TV-worthy!
So far, though, we’ve only dealt with Sherlock by phone. I did hear from that ex-coworker (who called as soon as she got my email) . . . she hadn’t heard from Missing Coworker (MC) in several months and, like me, never knew anything about any other romantic interests since the infamous Trucker from two years ago.
BUT.
One of the residents of the apartment building (our office is on the first floor of a low-income residential highrise), with whom we’re all pretty good friends, said that MC mentioned to him just two weeks ago that she was busy trying to avoid Trucker, who wouldn’t leave her alone.
Well, I’m off to meet Sidekick **Skip** to get him some new (detective?) duds, but I’ll be back tomorrow, likely with nothing new to share . . .

What prompted your boss to change the locks so soon? She had technically only been missing for one day (Friday) when he changed them right?
