On second thought, I’d rather shop before leaving home. Why don’t I get stuff that don’t require refrigeration - chips & salsa, buns, and anything else you can think of. ---

Um, I’ve already got dogs, brats, burger meat, cheese, and buns. I didn’t pick up condiments, plates, or plasticware, however. . . Tripler I have fire and vittles. What more does a man need? ---

OK, at the urging of my husband The Planner, I hereby present to you the day before the day before summary: The Place: Red Top Mountain State Park, Picnic Shelter #7 (see the OP for link to the park webpage, which includes a map, if you missed it earlier). The Day and Time: Sunday, October 1, starting at noon and ending…well, we’re probably gonna leave at around 4, but you yahoos can hang out as long as you want, until the rangers come and kick you out, I suppose. The Cast of Characters: **Geobabe** , **UncleBill** , and **The Dudes** -pulled pork, cole slaw **Tripler** and **Girlfriend** -charcoal, dogs, brats, burger meat, cheese, and buns **OpalCat** and \*\*Dominic \*\* -bringing their own crazee vegetarian fare and side dish or dessert **Archergal** -pimento cheese sammiches **Nawth Chucka** -fruit/veggie thang **scr4** -chips & salsa? condiments, plates, plasticware? **Slithy Tove** -? **herownself** -? **bobkitty** -? Looks like we still need tasty beverages…anything else we need that nobody’s signed up for? ---

Hoping to come, trying to get the Boy to agree to it. Since he hasn’t heard about it yet, not sure what the odds are. If we make it - I’ll bring a fabu salad and tasty beverages. And probably MEAT for the grill. 🙂 ---

Yup, it’s confirmed. My new significant other will definitely be along to enjoy the festivities. She does ask that y’all “be gentle”. Tripler I think we’ll shoot to be there around 11:30 to light the grill. ---

I am _so angry_ I missed this! I was going to get out of work early and show up, but we had a serious staffing problem and I wound up babysitting a bunch of our kids who had **lacrosse sticks and tennis balls**. Whose bright idea THAT was, I have no idea, but I wish they’d been there for me to take my wrath out on. ::grumble:: I’m never going to get to meet _anyone_. ☹ Glad everyone had a good time! ---

I know it’s pretty cheeky to ask before I even get MINE posted, but SCR4, are your pics from the picnic up somewhere? It was so nice to meet Slithy Tove, SCR4 and HerOwnSelf, such kind and fun Dopers! And what a gorgeous spot, couldn’t have asked for a prettier area or a milder day. We must do it again!
