OK, so where do I get a computer DST patch for Windows 2000, without having [to pay Microsoft $4,000](http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,129550-c,industrynews/article.html) for a few lines of code?

No, the machines cannot be upgraded to XP or Vista, nor Linux or “just use a Mac.”

Um. At the end of the article is suggests using Tzedit.exe, which is free.

How’s that?

Or go into the date/time control panel, turn off automatic daylight savings time changing, and just set the clock forward/back yourself.

See the heading, “Method 1: Change the time zone settings on multiple networked computers” if you are an admin and need to fix a lot of machines.

Ah, that won’t work as intended. In fact, from reading the links others have provided, it would make it worse for networked computers.

Thanks to all. I found [the IBM web site](http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3068&context=SSNVBF&uid=swg21253837) so much more helpful than [the Microsoft support page](http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_topissues#A5) created to handle the issue.
