I was watching **Ellen DeGeneres** this morning right before leaving for work. She mentioned Ms Kern but not in any derogatory fashion. Ellen mentioned about Sally’s recent newsworthy quote and tried to call her office. She got the answering machine message but after that it stated “we’re sorry, Ms Kerns’ Voice Mail box is full. Please try again later.” The audience got a big laugh over that and Ellen said “wow I bet a _lot_ of people are leaving messages for her.” It would be interesting to see if Ellen continues with this course of action. 🙂 My own view? Considering Sept 11, 2001; Hurricane Katrina; the total ineptitude of the Bush Administration and its underlings; the bottom rung that American students always achieve in math and science; Oil going well over $100 per barrel and a host of other problems, Sally Kern reaches the “brilliant” conclusion that homosexuality is America’s number one problem? She should get out more. Perhaps maybe even read a newspaper, watch TV, listen to the radio. ---

So irritating that I didn’t even have to read the article to know she was a Republican. At least it wasn’t from the south for a change (though Oklahoma and the Deep South have pretty similar breeding stock). ---

[/QUOTE] You’d like to think that, but in a Presidential primary, we just had one of the campaigns sneak an “uppity nigger” smear into the campaign to appeal to the racist inclinations of white voters. And this was in the primary for the allegedly progressive party. If racism still won’t lie down and die, I’d say homophobia, sadly, still has a very long run ahead of it. It’ll be like “Grease.” It wasn’t any good the first time they did it, wasn’t any better on screen and it’s still pretty bad, and you’d think people would have too much self-respect to like it anymore, but they keep going back. ---

McCain’s pandering with Rod Parsley is something that I recently did a double take about. I had given McCain more credit than that, but I see now that wasn’t warranted. “Spiritual adviser” ay there Senator? A planned gay pride parade caused God to smite New Orleans with Katrina, and Christians need to unite in a war against Islam. That is just some peachy-flavored, mold-fuzzed dog shit right there trying to make a dash for the White House. ---

Or implying they used their heads to eat vegitation, but if they’re not gorgon, I can’t see how that would be. And I doubt snakes eat grass anyway. But what is a chamois hanky? One the color of the animal, or one the color of the chammy? I thought that color was mustard, though. Or is it made out of the pelt of the animal? ---

Kansas, I will admit, seems to be coming back to the pack in the last couple of years. ---

It was part of the confederacy, you know. I grew up in the south and I’ve lived in the southwest for the last 5 years. I know which is which and believe me, Oklahoma is the south.
