I was just in a high school the other day and saw a sign for The Gay-Straight Alliance. All I could think was that if this alliance is successful, bisexuals are totally screwed…or something. ---

There was a good response to Kerns that Fark linked to yesterday. A letter from a high school student whose mother was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing and takes exception to the idea that gays are a bigger threat than terrorists. I agree with the overall sentiment, but this is illogical. Local motorists are a much bigger threat to me than, say, an asshole homicidal maniac in Peru. That doesn’t mean the maniac is a better person than local motorists, it’s just that they may accidentally hit me when I’m riding my bike, but the maniac (evil as he may be) isn’t a threat to me because he’s in Peru. ---

[/QUOTE] If we were talking about a rational person, then saying she’s talking about statistical risk to health might be a reasonable assumption. It seems pretty clear, though, that Kern is talking about moral worth. ---

Every time there is a major tragedy such as a natural disaster or terrorist attack they they pop up out of the wood work ranting and raving about how God is punishing us because of the gays. But homosexuality is not even mentioned in the 10 commandments. Theft is mentioned yet the pharises never rant about how the thieves are bringing the wrath of God down upon us. Oops. I just looked up pharises in the dictionary and realised 2 things. The first is I spelled it incorrectly. It should be Pharisees. Secondly it has more than one meaning.
