Not for nothin’ but WSLer strikes me as the very epitome of “Grumpy Old Man” from SNL, portrayed by Mr. Dana Carvey. As for the comment about _Revolution 9_, hey in some peoples eyes, although not mine, it does say a lot about someone if they like that track. And please don’t go putting words in my mouth. Let’s break it down, shall we? Car thread: The question asked why guys seem to like loud cars and such. I commented that I don’t necessarily like cars other than the occasional muscle car. Your contribution to the thread: zip. The Greg the Bunny rant, if you had read the OP you would have known that I was aware of the scheduling and was pissed at FOX for not following through. Your contribution to thread: zip. In the Beatles thread, the OP asked Dopers what they thought was the lousiest Beatle song. I voiced my opinion and indicated that I liked a song others did not. Your contribution to the thread: zip. Do you see a pattern here? Or is too difficult to see with your head up your ass? I am not the only person here who thinks you are a waste of flesh and blood. You have apparently forgotten one of the main rules of this board: Don’t be a jerk. Since asshat isn’t good enough, how about troll. ---

Then there’s the recent [baseball](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=135898) thread, where in addition to his arrogantly ignorant college remark (followed up so nicely by his next post. "Try not to display your semi-ignorance quite so publicly, 'kay? " indeed), we also witness his stunning mastery of the putdown with not one, not two, but _twenty-seven_ rolleyes in a row. What’s the matter, twenty-six lacked the full weight of your meaning, but twenty-eight would have ruined the subtle _insouciance_? 'course, the problem with pitting someone who’s so continuously pissy is that all too often it’s taken as an affirming compliment. ---

OK, three remarks of **WSLer** ’s being attacked. 1. Greg the Bunny: basically, he told you to chill out because his information, if correct, showed you had nothing to be concerned about. Where’s the problem with this? 2. Revolution 9: considered by many as a track (I hesistate to call it a “song”) enjoyed primarily by people on acid and other mind-bending drugs, or by the Manson family. Alot of casual Beatles fans share that opinion of Revolution 9. So, that was kind of a lame “haha, you use drugs because you like that song” remark. Little contribution to the thread perhaps, but not much in the way of animus, and not alltogether dissimilar from alot of remarks that are busy padding post counts in CS. 3. Loud cars: well, the remark was definitely a non sequitur in regards to _your_ post, but germane to the thread. The OP in that thread opened by saying she hated loud vehicles, so **WSLer** ’s comment wasn’t totally off-the-wall. Actually, it appears he posted to the topic of the OP in each of those 3 remarks. The Beatles remark wasn’t directly germane, but it was apparently intended as a quip that Beatles fans would understand, so it’s not far off the OP’s path. He responded to a Greg the Bunny rant with information pertaining to the cause of the rant. He responded to an OP who said she didn’t like loud cars with a remark that he did not like the sound of a car with a Chevy 454 rumbling down the street in the wee hours. So what are you so offended about? I’ll take **Guin** ’s assessment that this **WSLer** is Mr. Negative on it’s face, but I don’t see any personal animus in those three remarks sufficient to inspire a pitting. Were there worse examples you simply failed to include? ---
