> This was another late 50s / early 60s era SF movie I saw on a “Chiller Theater” type show. It was definitely in Black & White. The only scene I definitely remember must have been from late in the film, and it was a “base under siege” scenario.

> A small but plucky group of disparate survivors are holed up in a remote lighthouse, and seem to be the only remaining holdouts of an invasion of [puppet master](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Puppet_Masters) type aliens. The survivors observe the normally-invisible aliens briefly turn visible - the aliens appear like small blobby creatures. However if the aliens attach themselves to the nape of a person’ neck, then that person becomes their docile slave. (Think the [brain slugs](http://orig02.deviantart.net/164e/f/2010/053/b/3/hermes_conrad_and_brain_slug_by_kornykattos.png) from “Futurama.”) One of these aliens tries to attach itself to the neck of the female (as usual, there’s a single young female among the survivors.) The men wrestle it off her neck.

> Realizing the aliens are besieging them, the humans frantically begin boarding up the lighthouse, hoping to keep the aliens away from them.

You’re thinking of **Fiend Without a Face** , which featured creatures that looked like flying brains (with attached spinal cords) and having antennae. What made it cool was that the brains were painstakingly animated, like Harryhausen’s creatures (although not by him). When they were shot, they sort of bled out thick blood.

> Fiend Without a Face is a 1958 independently made British black-and-white science fiction-horror film drama directed by Arthur Crabtree, and starring Marshall Thompson, Kynaston Reeves, Michael Balfour, and Kim Parker.
> It was produced by John Croydon and Richard Gordon for Amalgamated Productions. The screenplay by Herbert J. Leder was based upon Amelia Reynolds Long's 1930 short story "The Thought Monster", originally published in the March 1930 issue of Weird Tales magazine. The film was re...

The thing that impressed me most about\*\*\* Invaders from Mars \*\*\*when I saw it at the age of 10 or so was how the walls of the underground tunnels bobbed in the breeze as the actors ran through them. (They were made up of hundreds of party balloons inflated to simulate bubbles of silica subjected to laser blasting.)

OK, so which '80s remake had a scene where the Head Alien appeared on some sort of viewing device, and he was wearing a leisure suit?

I knew a guy who had two almost fully-inflated ones tethered together over his desk, the area around the uninflated tip being painted a darker hue. It looked like an enormous pair of boobs over his desk. Meant for inspiration, no doubt.
