shirmers: another design flaw from the 60s, this machine used “perpetual motion” to create a horribly big apparatus that supposedly clipped hedges. Theoretically you could set it going and it wouldn’t stop. Ever. Unless you stopped it yourself. “Man, did you see those shirmers in purple?
