I lie and say I promote the candidate who will provide the most laughs. Okay, ban me for trolling. But I cannot maintain a straight face and support Trump, and I’m a fuckin’ TELEMAKETER! He makes me feel respectable, and I hate myself with all the power of those many suns in the cliche. That said, could this campaign be more entertaining? ---

This would be an extremely entertaining campaign if it weren’t so close. If Trump were a safe 10 points or so behind Clinton with no indication of moving, then yes - this would be the best election ever. But as long as there is a chance Trump could win, I’m too busy being terrified to laugh. ---

It was funny and entertaining for a while. But now I’m left with the realization that even if Trump loses, we still have almost half the country willing to vote for a racist douchebag with absolutely no experience, no realistic policy proposals, and no _understanding_ of… I’m gonna go ahead and say anything, just because they have an ® in front of their name. I’m going to aim for a german citizenship, and once I get it, I’m going to burn my passport. The USA has gone completely insane, and while it’s funny for a little while, that’s just the moment before the abject horror of the situation _really_ kicks in. Like, “Ha ha, very funny Todd, now put down the ski mask and the machete; where’d you _really_ hide my wife?” ---

Remember the supreme court. I think there is a lot of GOP voters that are repelled by Trump but they’re more terrified of the Dems getting to appoint two Supreme court justices. What exactly they’re terrified of I’m not sure, but they seem to think that Supreme court swinging liberal would be the end of civilisation or something. I’m convinced that if it wasn’t for the Supreme court vacancy and probability of at least one more in the next four years Trump’s support would be considerably lower. ---

I have plenty of opportunities to be entertained; I don’t need to tie the future of my country to my entertainment. I’m offended at the idea of an election as entertainment. Let the entertainers entertain me, and let the people who actually have ideas about how to run a country compete in an election. One party got that memo; the other one decided that giving the nomination to an entertainer who hadn’t even had the courtesy to gain experience with the lowliest elected office was a brilliant idea. ---

If it’s any consolation it should be about 40% when all is said and done, although the universe of voters who would consider voting for him is nearly half. But you also have to take Clinton into account. That universe of voters is probably smaller if the Democrats have a candidate who isn’t also sporting record awful approval ratings. ---

Alec Baldwin as Trump was entertaining, but that was just a few days ago. I suppose watching Cruz lose was entertaining in a way, too. Other than that, this crap ain’t funny. ---

In one sense this election is entertaining, in that there is a clown running. But in another more intellectual sense it’s dull: you can’t have any kind of serious argument about the policies as between the candidates; one of them has no policies. You can’t argue about their respective experience: one of them has none. You can’t argue about their mistakes and fuckups and mis-steps and whether they mean anything; one barely ever puts a foot wrong, the other never does anything else. ---
