We had a walk-through for some exterior house paint work (mostly the raw framing from having new windows installed), and partial interior painting and touch-up (last known painting of those rooms was in 1997). My lovely wife announced that she will rebuild a gate, so we stopped at a lumber yard to buy her some cedar boards–whatever the lady wants! **true fish** I’ve had a bunch of MRIs. Multiple knee and achilles problems. I always go to sleep in there. Something about the rhythmic clocking noises. Planes also put me to sleep. Tis chilly here. I may need to put on long pants. Or maybe just get the jammies on early. ---

Ms. Dog and her Person came for tea today. Ms. Dog was easily entertained. She’d toss her ball herself and then run to fetch it. Her Person told me in no uncertain terms to knock off the attempts to walk, so I guess majority rules. EZ Fish tonight. Tilapia filets coated with olive oil, with a pinch of salt, with fresh rosemary sprigs, and lemon slices. Bake in a preheated 400ºF oven. And steamed yellow squash. ---

Evening all. Went ahead and booked a short July vacation, three nights in Myrtle Beach (on the beach) and a couple in Charleston. Haven’t been down to that part of the country in well over 50 years, so some splashing in the waves and some tourist stuff (Ft. Sumter is on the list as well as the USS Yorktown) is on tap. Managed to get the budget within $10 of what I wanted to pay (and geez, taxes for hotels and rental cars are obscene). So between 19 and 24 July communications from your favorite rodent may not be to constant. Outside of that, nothing much to report. Got an update for my Home Insurance due in August, went up quite a bit due to the water leak claims and new appraisal, but I can handle it. Take care all. ---

Speaking of frog-stranglers, it’s absolutely doing the tropical downpour outside right now as I rapidly approach bedtime. Lightning every few seconds. Great blasts of rain and wind. Yaay! Our dinner was at a local outdoor fish place while the Sun was still shining brightly. Whereat I had Spanish style garlic shrimp and Her Ladyship enjoyed a seafood taco. ---

It’s a moot point now, hubs has security cameras up all over the place and plants blowing in the breeze set them off. I had already given up on the front yard anyhow because javalina love blooming plants, but a couple more trees would have been nice. And from the Weird Dream Department, last night, I apparently drove something over 4 hours to have lunch with **doggio** , because, of course I would! Oh, he lives in a nice little house on the water, tho I don’t know what water, but his neighbor had a boat tied up to his back fence. When it was time to leave, I discovered Tobias in my car, because, naturally, I could drive something over 4 hours without noticing a toddler in my Sonata. After my initial panic subsided and I got **doggio** to give me directions to the nearest burger joint so I could get the kid some food, I had to call my niece to tell her the child was OK. No, not his mother, his cousin - once removed… I don’t know. Oh, and **doggio** - who’s the little blond boy who lives with you? I asked his name, but he wouldn’t tell me because I was a stranger. He looked rather like one of Roxy’s classmates. I’m exhausted - I didn’t fall asleep till nearly midnight and I woke just after 6, not feeling rested at all.
