Happy Monday! I’ve been contending with various issues, family-wise and health-wise. The PA doubled the dose of Celebrex since the lower dose wasn’t working, and things got ugly. It took several days off it to get my tummy back to normal, but now, of course, my bacon is achin’. Luckily, I go back to see the PA tomorrow, so hopefully he’ll figure out something then. Today I’m going to walk downtown (back pain be damned) and take a bus to Costco. I hope. I couldn’t do it when I was legally blind because of a scary intersection, but I hope to do so this afternoon. I have a $40 cash-back bonus I want to use. I’ll stock up on artificial tears, since I got through them like, uh, water. They’re easy to transport, too. I’ll wait to leave until my sister-in-law calls me back. I’m trying to calm her before we all descend on their house in 10 days. I know it’s a fruitless task, but I have to try. She’s always a wreck, but this time it’s worse. For various reasons, NOT going to their house is not an option. Why is life like a Monopoly version where everything is in quadratic equations, including the dice? **flyboy** , sorry about your local situation following the murder of the guy outside the Seattle church. Would your wife be interested in going to a different church, or is she pretty bonded to the current one? **pilot** , I’ll have to go back and read the old MMP, but I hope things smooth out for you pronto. A just-curious question: would the new digs be close to where she lives now or in between where you are now and where she is now or maybe ini the Outer Hebrides? Well, f\*&k. My left foot has started being uncooperative in new and exciting ways. I was even a good girl and wore my shoes with brace all day. I am struggling to walk with a cane at times. Tomorrow I have to drive to Columbus for work so MusicMan loaded the rollator in the car for me just in case. I let my boss know what was going on. Blah. ---

It’s not Christian enough for her. When I say she’s devout, I mean she reads her Bible and takes notes for at least an hour a day. ---

Today I rode Ariel for the first time by myself (without my instructor) in a year. The fall last year (NOT off my horse) really shattered my confidence. I’ve spent the last year physically and mentally rehabilitating. I did have someone hold her while I mounted and dismounted. The next part of rehab is doing that by myself. Friend A has a PET scan tomorrow to determine if her lymphoma has spread to her reproductive system. Friend B has a CT scan tomorrow to check her liver since she has leukemia. Prayers and/or good thoughts would be welcome for them. ---

Howdy Y’all! Been a 🎶 rainy day in Jawja 🎶 and will be 🎶 a rainy night in Jawja 🎶 as well. We are currently under a flash flood warnin’ until nine-fifteen tonight. I hear thunder rumbles all around, but can’t really tell how close since I have taken my aids out. I have heard enough of the world for one day. We had a day of high RDOS inactivities. Nappage and day drinkin’ pair well with a rainy day. Leftovers were consumed as well. **Pilot** hope gf and you can come to a suitable arrangement. Dealin’ with agin’ parents is tough and can go on for quite a while. Seems like both of you are wantin’ things to work out and that is a positive thing. **Flyboy** the Episcopal church is mostly moderate. You can find both liberal and conservative churches, but for the most part it’s very find a middle ground. Separation of church and state is very important for the church. The church is pretty acceptin’ of everyone. ---

I think members of the UCC would probably argue with the “not Christian enough” designation. 🙂 I can only guess how hard it would be to find a hardcore fundamentalist church that isn’t MAGA-inclined. I wish both of you the best of luck. **WetOne** , a big CONGRATULATIONS on overcoming your obstacles and riding Ariel again. I’m impressed! So in approximately 48 hours, we will be meeting Izzy in person for the first time. Her room is ready. Mr. Rilch scrubbed the floor twice, and I Liquid Gold-ed it three times, and this was after I cleaned the windows, inside and out. Did the best I could for the furniture, made up the bed with new sheets (and steamed out the creases), stocked the closet with hangers, and set up the new alarm clock. One thing I’m a bit hung up on. The facilitator offhandedly mentioned that people where Izzy is from are a lot more formal in their attire; they don’t go to the market or post office wearing shorts, for instance. For the meeting at the airport, I think I’ll wear my nicest jeans (not shorts) and a peasant blouse. If I wore a skirt, I’d have to carry a purse, and I daresay my hands will be full enough. And Mr. Rilch is likewise going to wear long pants, not shorts, and a new flannel. Got the last of the paperirk done with the lease (they’d forgotten the pet addendum, so we got that done and now Nelson is an official resident). I’m sooooooo ready to get this over with. Given that I’ll have had the better part of two months to get packed (and this has been needed, given my physical limitations), it seems like a neverending task. What really makes it slow is that for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been able to do nothing in the studio. Oh, well, a little of online genealogy is getting done. ---

**wet one** Best of thoughts to your friends. I’ve said it before and will say it again–Fuck cancer. And great to hear you’re back in the saddle! I went on a work drive to pick up some pieces we had powder coated for the outdoor science park. Since my dear departed Tacoma is no longer with us I had to use the care share version. Ooof, that thing is not well, couldn’t maintain 55 going up a hill. But, the pieces are back and will be installed over the next couple of days. I am hoping to build some real stuff, as in exhibits that can go on the floor, rather than prototypes (damn that’s a difficult word to type) in the near future. I should have the materials here to do that soon. **flyboy** I grew up UU. Maybe that could be a place to look? I’m not religious in the slightest, but I can see how some get comfort from it. **Rilch** I hope all goes well with meeting Izzy. ---

I was a little worried about the mental transition between being your own boss and working for someone else, but that seems to have been a silly worry. So I did a lot of adulting today and am now going to spend a couple of hours smoking and stitching. Hubs tried to be nice and ordered a BIG container of powdered gatoraid, but I had already stopped drinking the bottled stuff because I’ve found tablets that have everything. (I don’t really like flavored drinks that much unless ETOH is involved.) Despite not even unpacking the box, it cannot be returned. Last year I would have put it in the pantry to forget about, but I’ve vowed to stop doing that so I will offer it to Tara when she’s over Wednesday. I don’t know what she likes to drink. I’ve seen her drinking coke (don’t know if it is diet or not) and water, she’s mentioned drinking Kool-aid, but she’s kinda “formal” with me. She won’t bring her shoes in the house because it isn’t proper, when I asked her what I could stock for her to drink while she was cleaning, she looked and acted very shocked that I would consider spending money catering to her preferences. She’ll calm down in time, we are always nice and do appreciate the people who clean our toilets. In other news, Hubs has decided that we should bring crinkle chocolate cookies to the family reunion. I reminded him that there were so many desserts last time that only a few people ate my last offering. He said that someone must have taken it home and I reminded him that WE did and that he ate it all. They could use it to replenish themselves after doing an ambulance run or a fire call or even after a training session.
