I know, First World Problems, but it’s my dinner that I’m paying for so a little complaint is justified, IMHO. You’re right to be pissed. That’s one of my pet peeves. It happens a lot these days. I’ve taken to telling the server I’ll be ordering in courses. First a drink, then when that’s half gone, I order my salad or app. Then when that’s almost gone, I order the main course. Sure, that builds in some wasted time, but I’d rather have that than an entree getting cold while I’m still working on the salad or app. I suspect the computers are scoring the kitchen on how fast the ordered food gets out, so unless the server inserts a delay, they’re rushing to feed you. Ordering in stages gives me control of the delays since I don’t really trust the servers to do so reliably.
