Morning.

Overslept a bit, and I’m not sure if I got the biiig bin out in time for collection; they’re pretty inconsistent here, sometimes this street is the one they do first in the area, sometimes it’s last, and normally the lorry wakes me up if it’s early, cos it’s loud, so I dunno.

Going into town clothes shopping is still on the plan for the day. Boooring.

Yay for Spot returning!

Actually, I don’t think any fuchsias are properly annuals; many aren’t hardy, so they get sold as annuals, but if you can keep 'em somewhere cool, light but frost-free they’ll probably survive multiple years. I only grow hardy ones myself though, being too lazy to faff around bringing them in.

> I remember my Mom in Church telling us to sing the hymns “let them know we’re here, we might not sing good but we sing loud.”

A parish priest when I was a kid used to say: “If you have a good voice, praise God with it. If not, get even with him!” So there’s a thought! 😁

My thermometer tells me there are 47 Ferrets out there this morning and Accuweather promises 70 at the top. I don’t think I’ll be doing any outside work, except for sprinkling some plant food on my new iris patch. I will make a Food Lion run since **FCD** ’s canned cokes are on sale. And maybe more clay work - but I need to decide what I want to make. I wasn’t very inspired yesterday. Plus I need to trim my fingernails - when they’re long, they make it harder to work in clay.

Today is BIL’s b-day - he’s 67. I’d take him a cake or something but apart from his getting way too fat for his own good, he probably won’t eat it. He’s lost his sense of taste and smell, so he just doesn’t enjoy food. Why so fat, you ask? Because he subsists on baloney sammiches on white bread, snacking on pretzels and chips. That’s pretty much it.

So that’s today in FairyChatLand. I woke stoopit early, so it may mostly be a lazy day. Onward!

Happy Thursday!

Good morning! This is the day When we go to the Allergy Clinic in Mishawaka for a Xolair shot and a trip to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream. We’re told there will be detours around road repairs. That will make the trip longer and more challenging.

You’re living up to this week’s MMP title then!

**metalmouse** yay for meeting friends at the gym, and then getting a lunch invitation out of it.

**doggio** lovely to see the pic of Spot on FB this morning, he’s had quite the adventure.

**red** keeping you and your cousin in my thoughts

Yesterday was a busy one at irk, I had to do something for someone else that involved a lot of digging around for information but it got done in the end, and everyone seems happy with it. I got home with only a minimum of travel trauma, did evening jobs and made dinner (chicken, onion and veggies with a Mexican spice mix, and rice), then watched some tellybox stuff until bedtime.

Today has been exhausting already. I had a 2hr dept meeting to minute, which actually finished slightly early but then I had a 1-1 with TM and her raft of complaints so now I want to have a lie down in a darkened room. Got one more meeting with my manager after lunch, so I can offload TM’s current grievances to her! No plans for tonight, and 'im indoors is making dinner so I will have nothing to do when I get in. On the plus side, it’s payday so I have paid my bills (there’s really only a couple that aren’t on direct debit) and am solvent again for a while. Must mean I need to buy some gig tickets!

> In some buildings, you can only have either the heat or the a/c working and you can’t change back and forth from day to day.

That’s the case here, as well. The problem is that this system is about 40 years old, which means parts are hard to find, and so are contractors who know how to work on it. An example: there are no thermostats still made that will work with this system. So if your thermostat craps out the best they can do is to have your heat or your cooling on all the time with no way to regulate it.

We had the fun of tornado watch alerts until about nine last night. No touch-downs, that I’m aware of. My daughter had to drive home in a torrential downpour and truly ominous skies where she lives. They upped the status to “warning” in her county for awhile, so my kids were all sitting in their basements until it all passed.

And a good morning all. Up about 7am and feeling refreshed today, considering that there is not much on the agenda I might even get some house-irk done. Fall is definitely here, 51F heading to 78F later. Have got about 90% of the Firday shopping list done, will browse the digital coupons and on-line ad to see if there is anything else worth getting. Will get through this message fast as my Big Bowl O’Cereal awaits once I finish.

Yep. Sometimes between soccer games on Saturday I’ll stop by a convenience store and get a 2-pack. Haven’t changed at all.

**Nut** , have the same deal with my trash haulers, sometimes it’s 6am, sometimes it’s 10am, you just never know so the bin goes out the night before. Endure the clothes shopping and hope it’s the last time for some months. And glad your timing was good.

**FCM** , most of my priests (as far as I remember) were too solemn to say that, but there were a couple… And nice gesture to BIL, but sounds like how I used to eat before I started going to the gym and watching my calories. Still probably eat more bad stuff than good, but in moderation. Doesn’t sound like he has much moderation.

**Knots** , I thought Shots were paired with a Beer, but Ice Cream is a excellent substitute.

**boo fae** , there is a town in Northern Ohio not far from where I lived as a youth names “Wooster”, so I learned to pronounce that early–but Worcestershire just looks like it ought to have more than 2 syllables… Happy you survived the Minion Meeting, but too many meetings!

**Cookie** , I hope the owners are putting money back to replace the system with something more modern, but from what you’ve said in the past I wouldn’t bet that way, unfortunately. Glad the tornadoes gave you and family a pass.

And time to break fast and get that big bowl of Cereal in my belly. Have a good Thorsday all.

I’m guessing that’s Roomie in the picture. The nails look far too nice to belong to a box tosser.

So it is foggy and cool again this morning. Jolene is in her basket and George is in his Cave of Solitude. They must have had a little spat this morning, usually they are cuddled up together when its this cold inside.

I’m mostly just drinking coffee and watching the birds eat. The Starlings are back form where they went for the summer and cover the lawns poking around for bugs.

I also have a fushia that I was thinking I should pitch, but maybe I’ll put it in the carport and see if it makes it over the winter. The hummers love them so I buy one every year.

We didn’t get to have store-bought packaged cupcakes and such when I was a kid. I was an adult by the time I ate my first Twinkie and they just weren’t made for adult taste buds. I’ve had a few others over the years, but not even the weed helped me develop a taste for them. Its probably for the best.

We, in my part of the Mitten, pronounce it phoenetically as: were-stir-sure So, 3 syllables (which was the word I won a spelling bee contest in 4th grade on: syllable, not worcestershire)

Sitting here finishing my coffee after having a piece of my blueberry strudel, twas very satisfying.

We’re in a similar situation after I futzed around with our CD. It paid off some bills and left enough to pad savings. It’s strange to see our VISA balance below $1k, especially since we use it to pay for everything. But since most of the major boat work is done, while income is steady, outgo is reduced. Of course, saying that just jinxed us. Dammit.

Back from Food Lion, plus I ran my car thru the car wash for their cheapie option - $11. The attendant asked why I didn’t have a membership - I told her I might wash the car every 3 months or so (truth!) and with the membership you’d have to use it at least twice a month. Unlike **FCD** , I’m not that fussy about my vehicle. Plus it’s in the garage more than it’s on the road. Plus plus his is a 2024, so worthy of frequent cleaning. Mine is a 2012, so unless it’s been subjected to mud or road salt, it’s just not worth the bother.

Anyway, groceries are stowed and I’m about to conduct a search for plant food. I’m pretty sure I have some. Somewhere. Let the quest begin!!

Good morning.

It’s 42F, cloudy, and damp outside. We expect a daytime high of 54F, with clouds, partial cloudiness, and showers throughout the day.

**Red,** I’m sorry about your cousin and am glad he is stable today.

**Doggio** , I’m happy Spot is home again.

I have three varieties of upright fuchsias; two are hardy, and one variety was supposed to be an annual, but those two plants must have been mislabeled because they come back every year. I do not take them indoors. Between the two supposedly annual fuchsias and the Tall Garden Phlox plants, they have taken over one of my tall planter boxes, and I’ll have to move things.

One of my fuchsia plants isn’t a true fuchsia; it’s a Cape fuchsia with yellow tubular blooms.

I was never a fan of Twinkies; they always tasted odd to me. I loved Ding Dongs as a kid, though.

**Lily,** I have never tried borscht, but your picture certainly makes it look delicious.

**Metal Mouse** , yay for meeting old co-workers and planning lunch!

Mr. Taters went grocery shopping yesterday, but it took a lot out of him. After I put the groceries away, I realized he’d forgotten an essential ingredient for the meal he wanted to make, so I cleaned up and went to the store to get it. I was hoping to pick up the pups’ prescriptions while I was out, but they weren’t ready until almost 5:30 yesterday, so I’ll pick them up today. There is no way I want to go to Costco at 5:30 in the evening; it’s always packed with people stopping after work.

Once again, it’s far too wet for any yardwork, so I’ll just futz around the house, I guess.

Please take care of yourselves.

I like the way you think 🙂

It looks like today is laundry day. I noticed we were getting low in the linen closet and thought I would wash some towels. The dirty towels are in a different place where they are easy to ignore so I’ve got a couple of loads to do. As long as I’m doing that, might as well change the sheets (its been two days) and do my laundry. The timers remind me to take breaks from stitching so that’s a good thing.

I’m also sorting towels. We have some that have loose threads hanging all over. I do not understand how that happens, we treat all of our towels the same and some of them get trashed while the others are just fine.

Rescue critters don’t care if they have ugly towels, so I’m making a stack for them while I’m sorting.

Hubs is outside tinkering with his bike. He can’t really wrench on it anymore, but there are other things he can play with.

We both have our toys!

For those who were worried about George and Jolene spatting…all is forgotten and they are now cuddled up with each other for their afternoon nap.

Used to work with a guy who liked Ding Dongs because they were bite-sized.

So did I, but I now prefer the lemon ones.

My favourite cereals as a kid were Special K, raisin bran, and Froot Loops.

1344 already? How did that happen. I think I’ll go get some breakfast. . . .
