My Evil Dad hooked up his TV to the Clapper. When an ad for the Clapper came on, it would shut off the TV.

Now that is hysterically funny!

I have a vague memory of getting quite lit last night.
Well, apparently, non-sober me not only baked that quiche (the leftovers of which are quite tasty) she also washed a buncha dishes AND took the bin to the curb after all!

Gooooooo, me! 🏆

Crap, now I gotta go retrieve the damn thing.

I opened the door to let Monkey “out” and was confused as to the whereabouts of the bin, till I noticed the twin tire marks vanishing into the still-falling snow.

Monkey did go a few feet out, noped right back on in, and is now howling at the (closed) door again like it’s somehow different out there than it was a few minutes ago.

Well, at least a buncha dishes are clean.

“Vegan” split pea soup is percolating. (I like adding thinly sliced kielbasa, which adds flavor and kills off the vegan vibe.)

Some sliced green onion once it’s all cooked, and it’ll be a nice afternoon, sitting here on my butt in my jammies with a bathrobe over it all - gotta have layers in this weather - plus a cat intermittently snuggling.

LOL I love these kinds of stories especially when narrated in the third person.

Turns out Corelle breaks if dropped on ceramic tile. Tobias was bringing the bowl up for refills and, well, there ya go. I swept it up and vacuumed the bits that flew on to the carpet tiles. Then I filled an unbreakable bowl with more turtle crackers. I should ask them if they want sammiches. They had a late breakfast but I bet they’re hungry now.

And, alas, I only have 12 matching bowls now, plus 4 that don’t match the set. Were I seriously OCD, I’d be breaking a dinner plate and a dessert plate. But I’m not, so I won’t.

OK, back to the basement to see if they want food.

Three-year-old boys and breakable objects are rarely a good combo.

Yeah, I’m stuck with the depot and can decide Friday night. It gives me time to experiment. Should even out eventually, but I don’t like the effects of vomiting on the teeth or esophagus. Plus being a grown-ass lady, I must clean up after myself, which is neither a delight nor stomach-settling.

Something I first heard when I was a kid – possibly because my mother was born in Florida a couple months after the beginning of WW I (Not that I would expect someone from Florida to have much experience with that sort of thing. Maybe she learned it from my Iowa-born father.)

It’s related to all the white flakes coming down out of the sky. 😃

Roxy and Tobias helped make their own lunches - they’re actually pretty helpful, and they like to help out in the kitchen. I’ve got some great grands!

Thank you for the history teacher blessing~so far I’ve found a MLK board book bio and a Rosa Parks bio. Works for me.

The operated on eye is my legally blind one so they told me to not expect any vision improvement since it’s virtually blind because of scarring on fovea of the retina and ain’t no surgery yet that can fix that but it was worth doing to get more light in peripherally and to get rid of the tea colored discoloration on everything that would be confusing and tiring for my brains visual processing center to sort out when the good eye was fixed. I can tell that that has happened-more light is getting in (hence the gaaaaah! this morning driving into the sunrise) and I can tell that what little field of vision I do have in that eye no longer looks like everything has had coffee spilled on it. It is tiring as the eyes squabble what which eye is right in seeing what they are seeing. I suspect that processing adjustment will keep being a tiring task until the good eye gets the same fixes. Now they are always bickering. Tiny little headaches that I handle by making a cup of tea and not asking them to get along and read for an break of an hour or so and not try to read regular print for long at all after midafternoon.

Mumper land gets what reading and typing tolerance I have

Had a good time with youngest son and his girlfriend, his daughters and the girlfriend’s daughter yesterday. Food and chat and laughter is good medicine. They brought a few belated Christmas gifts. My son gave me a tablature notation chart book, which was thoughtful, and I even plugged in the Strat and hit a few licks for the first time in a long while. He said he may bring over his guitar and we can fool around a bit together. Guess I’d better brush up. He and his girlfriend are looking a bit serious, which is good. She’s so much nicer and smarter than his ex-wife and he seems very happy around her. Sadie made a brief appearance but basically stayed under the bed.

Or you might be able to replace them by sending what pieces you are missing to Boo’s Extra Exclusive Catering Only To Her Fellow Mumpers Corelle Replacement Service. I had my own Corelle service, then inherited my mother’s then my sister gives me stacks that she picks up at tag sales. I can’t fit them all in my cupboard. Chances are I can fill in those holes, especially the vintage patterns., which will make some room for the next batch my sister sends me.

And yes, those suckers don’t break when they hit the floor, they explode into a shower of slivers. The previous owner of my house installed craggy black quarry tiles in the kitchen. Can’t clean it and even a fresh bagel won’t survive being dropped on it.

This made me literally laugh out loud: I _just_ dropped — and shattered — a Corelle plate on my kitchen floor on Saturday! It was at least 40 years old; it sported the “gold butterfly” pattern. I still have plenty of others (including matching bowls/smaller plates), which I got from my mom when I moved into my first apartment 30 years ago. I was amazed at how many pieces it splintered into\*, and how many of them were _tiny_. It was a challenge to keep a nosy dog away from the floor covered with broken glass until I could sweep and then mop all of it (🤞) up.

\*I hadn’t seen **BBBoo** ’s post when I wrote this! 🙂

I suppose I am a little paranoid about electronics and such because way back when, my mother had a wireless phone, and our next-door neighbor could hear our conversations through her phone.
I heard the same could happen with baby monitors.

**Ellecram** - I had the same thing happen with something I was trying to connect with Bluetooth. I had no idea which neighbor. It was a while ago and |I can’t remember what it was.

I got rid of all my Correlle after some broke. The shards were nasty. I have a few mismatched bowls, some mine, some my mother’s, and the others I have no idea where they came from.

**FCM** , I wondered where you got a set of thirteen? Unless you had sixteen and broke three.
I like your set. I had the old green ones, my mother had gold.

The path my son shoveled has melted down to the grass. The sun is really bright today.
I’m eating some lunch and then figure out what I want to do next.
