Lager is definitely feeling better, his is currently in time out because he kept poking at koritza. I warned him, he just kept pushing. I always say he is a wicked smart 2 year old. Just pushing the limits and getting into trouble. Absolutely adorable when he is sleeping and cuddling. It is just tooooo quiet when he is ill. ---

**FCM** I’m sorry for all of you that you’re having another crisis. The thing that frustrates me most about mental health is that it’s not something that you can ‘see.’ Also, even more personally frustrating is that I can tell you what is _wrong_ with me, but somehow I can’t tell me how to stop doing whatever ‘it’ is. Intellectually I know that if my arm was broken that I wouldn’t be able to repair it without the help of medical attention, but I almost always expect myself to be able to fix my mental issues all alone. I suppose that’s the _beauty_ of stigma having grown up ashamed to be who I was. Ok, in brighter news, I think I have a new and more fun idea for a memorial tattoo! More on that later. ---

Heck, that’s pretty much what I was told when I was growing up. It took a while to shake that belief and understand it does, in fact, have a physical cause, but it’s chemical and internal, or actual damage to the brain so that certain parts just don’t work. And I won’t go into the “health insurance” side of mental health. We’ll watch the last 2 episodes of _The Tudors_ tomorrow. Since he’s already married his 6th wife (and 3rd Catherine) I expect we’ll see his declining health to his ultimate demise as the series wraps up. Then we’ll need to find something else to watch. But I just subscribed to BritBox so there are many more possibilities! It’s after 9 - OMG!! Past my bedtime!!! 😮 It’s weird - I left home in 1973 and no longer had to observe my mother’s designated kids’ bedtime, but to this day, I still feel like I should be in bed by 9. But if I go back, I’ll end up playing games on my tablet till almost 11 anyway! Take that, Mommy! 😉 OK, I do need sleep - tomorrow is laundry day!!! ---

Tonight I made Trader Joe’s Bacon Wrapped Scallops (8 count). I thought they’d be an appetiser, but I’d bought some surimi salad at the corner market and we had that with them. I also had some cottage cheese. That was plenty for both of us. The scallops were good, but I could barely taste them with the bacon. Today is a holiday, as was yesterday. I’m taking PTO tomorrow. ---

I must have mistyped something~my cataract surgery for my left (legally blind already) eye is January 16th, a Thursday. Not too worried about it, I’ve had surgery at this surgical hospital before and I’ve had this eye surgical group (different surgeon) operate on both my eyes before, it went well. The second surgery is two weeks later, Thursday January 30th, on my right eye. That’s the one that is giving me the heeber-jeebers. If something goes wrong there, with my only good eye, I’ll be blind. I’m hoping that if it goes smoothly on my so-what-not-much-to-lose eye, I be much calmer about the 30th of January. ---

I asked the orderly who wheeled me into recovery if they’d put a brown stain in my non-operative eye because everything looked like it was tinged with smoke residue. He said nothing. It finally sank in that it was the cataract doing that. The operative eye was seeing things clearly–and the light was so bright! My students said they’d noticed I’d been calling blue things green.
