Hubs and I agree that frying braunschweiger doesn’t really make a big difference in the taste (a little stronger) but does make it easier to serve. There was a moment of panic when I realized that the air fryer had gotten changed to C and I didn’t know how to turn it back to F. I tried poking different buttons at the same time and unplugging it and re-plugging it and then finally got the directions and figured it out. As expected, it was a simple fix. It sounds like the train tracks have been cleared, three trains have gone by in the past couple of hours and usually there are only 3 to 6 a day. One of the returning trains had all clean box cars. I don’t know enough about coal cars to know if they were new or had just been cleaned but it was different enough to catch my attention. ---

Man, I hope there’s at least one green onion lurking … ETA: upon heaving myself up to check, I verified the existence of one (1) green onion. Not an extravagant quantity, but it’ll work! ---

This is the recipe for the chocolate cream pudding from my grandmother. It is used in her pie, being placed in a baked crust and topped with whipped cream. Grandma started using Kool Whip when that came out, I still make it with real cream. 1/4 cup cocoa powder 3/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 3 cups milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 tablespoon butter Scald 2-1/2 cups of the milk. Blend the dry ingredients until smooth. Blend into that the remaining 1/2 cup milk. I put the scalded milk in the top of a double boiler, but it can be cooked directly on the stove, with the chocolate mix blended in. Stir until thickened, and if it’s on the stove be careful not to let it scorch. Take from heat and blend in butter and vanilla. It can be poured into serving dishes or, if it’s to be a pie, let it cool slightly and pour into a baked crust, topping as desired. ---

Oh, yeah, at the end of the night we had a TON of “dead dough” so I made a couple of rat crackers. We got stuck with a couple of extras, so after salvaging the toppings I baked the remaining large cheese pizza for them too. … and joked to **S.M.** that the rats were getting cheese and crackers for their supper, and all that was missing was a _teeeensy_-tiny bottle of wine! ---
