# Old blues song I can't identify

In the late 50s, radio stations played a song that began:  
_Do it.  
It may be love or war or moppin’ up the floor but do it._  
The song also included the line:  
_To think about all the miles we’ve gone  
Speak for yourself, Dear John_  
The verses would end:  
_Do it yourself._  
I’ve never been able to identify the song…perhaps sung by Ella Fitzgerald or Sarah Vaughn (whom I have seen in person).  
Any Dopers know it?
