Her Ladyship went off to library volunteer, and I took a fine nap while it alternately rained and drizzledā€¦ Once up & re-sheveled she returned & I proposed Ruling Class Dinner. A fine time was had at a place we had not been before and now weā€™re home and reading / Doping. I ought to be full, but thereā€™s nothing like eating too much to make you hungry again soon. Glad to hear most folks had a fine time, whether it was traditional or otherwise. ---

Which is bad no matter what, but is fatal in pitching. Iā€™m very gentle with the grass; sometimes it doesnā€™t even feel the wind of the club going by at high altitude. Iā€™ll get there. ---

As my dad said, ā€œkeep your head down, donā€™t look up, all youā€™re gonna see is a shitty shot.ā€ I try to think of the swing as a big circle centered at the back of my neck. Keep that in the same place in relation to the ball and it should work out ok. ---

Happy Friday! Yesterday was a day of sloth. Today was a day of frustration. There is nothing like starting on the ToDoList and hitting a snag about 3 items down. All I can say is F CVS, F Capital One, F the USPS. For good news, my son doesnā€™t have jury duty Moonday. He finally put the dining room table together. Itā€™s smaller than expected. It is supposed to seat six. Maybe if all of them are six feet tall and weigh 100 pounds. However, the top matches the cabinets in the kitchen and the color of the base matches the rug, and better too small than too big. Itā€™s been a long day and I am tired. ---

This morning Hubs took my car to get the wheels rotated and balanced, but they didnā€™t need to be balanced because _I_ donā€™t make it a habit to bump into those concrete parking lot dividers like _someone_ does. He also had it washed for me, but it didnā€™t work to make it rain. I told him he should have opted for the high-end wax job, but he said he was sure that just giving the car itā€™s semi-annual bath should have been enough for a good storm. Iā€™ll be dragging hoses around tomorrow, my baby trees still need watering, it is not advised to put them on drippers so I will be hand watering monthly for a couple of years. It has been cold and cloudy, so it is possible that it will rain tonight, but Iā€™m not getting my hopes up. Some kitty managed to shove me around last night and I woke up with a stiff neck and back. Iā€™m unkinking now, but plan to be more assertive in bed tonight. Iā€™ll push both cats onto Hubs and let him deal with it, LOL! ---

Definite cold snap settling in - itā€™s at freezing this morning, heading towards low-20s overnight Moanday and Tuesday. Rah. Huzzah for electric blankets! Ziva is happy that MIL is gone - she was out and about this morning, and now sheā€™s yelling to be let back into the bedroom, whereas the last few days, she hardly left the bedroom. Iā€™ll never figure her out - sheā€™s been here since 2009, never been abused, but she still shies away from everyone except me. Cats is weirdā€¦ Meanwhile, caffeination continues. I might or might not accomplish mowage. The usual sloth, general overall uselessness, nappage, and day drinkinā€™ will, of course, occur. My DAWGS donā€™t plan until seven-thirty this eveninā€™. They will play the NATS\* in Etlanner. Should be an easy game, however, beinā€™ the big in state rivals, one must take that into account. Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Morninā€™ everyone. Itā€™s 28F and mostly clear outside. The expected high is 45F with sunny skies. Today is puppy pick-up. I have the pen set up along with their crates. Yesterday, I purchased some training treats, chew toys, and a couple of soft stuffies for them. Iā€™m irritated both with Amazon and myself. Amazon was supposed to send two crate pads on Wednesday. Although ordered together, they were shipped separately, and only one arrived. The missing pad was bouncing around my town and is now delayed with no tracking. So, yesterday, I went to Home Depot to get utility mats to put under the crates and then to PetSmart and PetCo. I wanted to buy a 42-inch crate pad in case the second pad doesnā€™t come. I also needed two 36-inch crate pads. Somehow, I came home with THREE 42-inch pads. I are dumb, or more than likely, just kind of tired because of work, cleaning, holiday prep, and puppy prep. So, I need to return to PetSmart to return two crate pads today. I just wanted to drive to Olympia, pick up my pups, and come home with them today. Other than walking and playing with them, I wanted this to be a low-key day. Oh well. I need to clean up the kitchen in a bit, but first, I will enjoy a second cup of coffee. Iā€™ve already showered and prepped myself for being out in public, taken the garbage and yard waste bin to the curb, and tidied the great room. Well, tidying consisted of folding up the blanket I used while watching TV last night. It wasnā€™t strenuous or anything. I am debating putting up my tree and village. Partly because I am just not feeling it, and secondly, puppies and shiny baubles are probably not a good mix. I think Iā€™d be more up for it if my husband helped (without being asked). Heā€™ll help me drag the tree out if I need it, but Iā€™m on my own as far as hanging decorations or putting any other Christmas stuff out. Itā€™s been like this my whole marriage, but more and more, Iā€™m just kind of over the work involved. The grandkids wonā€™t be here; itā€™ll probably just be me, my husband, my son, and my mother. I need to snap out of it and quit being so damn grinchy. **sari,** Iā€™m sorry there seem to be so many issues, but yay for having a new dining room table set up! A table is better than NO table. Yesterday, I had half a turkey sammich for lunch, turkey, taters, gravy, and dressing for dinner. Iā€™m already over it, but we still have a lot in the fridge. When I finally take it in for tires, Iā€™ll have Paul check for any leaks in the brake system. With 211K miles, it could well be a failing hose or some corrosion at a connection or something similar. But Iā€™ll let them figure it out - Iā€™m way past the age of having fun doing automotive troubleshooting and repair. Iā€™ll replace my wiper blades and washer fluid, but thatā€™s about the size of it. Itā€™s kinda miserable out there. Accuweather says mostly sunny and highs in the low 40s. Well, no sun so far. But thereā€™s a chance of rain tomorrow, so I really need to get rid of the leaves today - at least as much as I can. I plan to drive in a circle starting at the center and working my way out so the leaves get blown into the woods or into flowerbeds. Iā€™ll deal with the beds come spring. Do I know how to whoop it up or what?!?! ---

Morning all. Sitting in the St. Louis airport waiting for my flight home (via a stop in Charlotte). So far I seem to have lost my car keys after successfully holding onto them for the previous 19 days and managed to get a Cherry Coke from the vendor which I didnā€™t discover until I had taken a big swallow of it. Have messaged the car rental place to see if I dropped them in the rental car, but have another set at home if needed. So not a great start to the morning but at least I will be sleeping in my own bed again. ---

The Bobā€™s Red Mill corn meal that I thought had been lost in shipment turned up a day late. Huzzah! On the other hand, I had a hankering for some Denisonā€™s chili, the only canned chili that I can stand to eat. Itā€™s a holdover from kiddom. Canā€™t find it locally, so went to Amazon and had it in the cart ready to purchase when I noticed the price for six of them worked out to $5/can. For chili. Are you shitting me? Free shipping, my ass. I had planned to make turkey stock this morning and then stuffing tomorrow morning in anticipation of going to my sonā€™s house for a delayed T-day. Unfortunately, our fridge is stuffed full of leftovers from Thursdayā€™s meal at the nieceā€™s place, so now Iā€™ll have to spend all morning tomorrow putting this together and tripping over my wife while she makes cranberry sauce. Not happy. Yeah, Iā€™m Mr. Crankypants today. ---
