Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 82 and N.O.S. Not much shakin’ at da cave today. I shall attend the noontime Eucharist over to the church house bein’ as it’s Holy Week and all. Sup will be pot roast with carrots cooked in the slow cooker, rutabagas (don’t judge, we like ‘em), smashed N.O.T., cabbage casserole and bizkits. The urge to cook is upon me. So there’s no MMP yet. Have we all become RDOS? That’s my excuse for it bein’ this late gettin’ startrd. What ‘s yours? Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah. My excuse is I couldn’t think of something clever: and I want to be clever. Blame stagnation. Thanks for starting. I do not have enough points to retire ( working under the table is not a great idea). It may reach 70 here so out and about on the bus. ---

I was waiting for someome to start the MMP. I went to bed early (as **MetalMouse** predicted I would), then woke a few hours later and couldn’t get back to sleep. I need to either get serious about dog-walking or try to find a job. As I said, it’s a little hard to figure out how to do either when I have all these stoopid medical appointments. Tomorrow I have an allergist appointment (no allergies, but they’re the designated docs for mast cell disorders that cause itching) and Wednesday is shot day. Since I’m without a car, transit/walking sucks up a lot of time. I’m going to walk errands today and since it’s supposed to be warm, I should scrub down the balcony and the chairs out there. I should finish by spraying vinegar because the spiders are once again building Sticky Heights Condos out there. ---

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 13c/56f with a predicted high of 14c/57f and cloudy. My excuse is that I started the last MMP and it would be rude to do it again so I waited for someone else to do it. Normal Monday activities here today - dropped 'im indoors at the station this morning, came home and irked for a while, went out at lunchtime to do the grocery shopping, came home and unpacked it all, now munching a corned beef ciabatta and contemplating the afternoon’s irkage. Two cats are snoozing, one is hissing and growling but she’s demolished her food so at least she’s not wasting away! ---

An overcast start to the week and very windy. I think they’re even forecasting some snow up north again at some point. Sadie seems perkier this morning, which is good. The wife is already up, so I guess I can start breakfast. Then off to exercise. The rest of the week looks to be pretty boring, but that’s better than hair-on-fire. Cheers, all. ---

Yep, I’m retired, as is Mr. brown. That leaves us free to take quickie little trips as and when the mood strikes us. We’re on one now, in our favorite little rental home in Sonoma County. This is handy place from which to drive out on day trips to Bodega Bay, Healdsburg, and the town of Sonoma. There’s plenty of good eatin’ here in wine country, so we have our lunch destinations all planned out. The temperature is in the mid to high 70s, so that’s fine, though we like it a bit cooler. Right now I’m powering down big mugs of strong black tea and Mr. brown is still asleep. We’ll have a smoked pork chop and eggs when he gets up. Then it’s west for a nice coastal drive and some halibut and chips at a fish joint. ---

According to the recipe I linked to they are also known as turnips and ‘neeps’. Monday, Monday (doo doo, doo doo doo). And so it begins. Schedule for the week: Monday: teach all day, rehearsal 7-10. Tuesday: teach all day, rehearsal 7-10 Wednesday: day “off”. Clean for the cleaners, then cleaners are coming. Rehearsal 7-9. Thursday: 8:15 call for 10am mass. Rehearsal then first mass of the day. Long one. Two hours or so. Then rush to university to teach all afternoon. Then 6:15 rehearsal for 7:30 mass. Followed by Tenebrae around 9. Oof. Friday: teach all morning, 2:15 call for 3pm service. Sleep. Saturday: Do what i can to help prepare the house for housing Easter. Also sleep. Evening Easter Vigil mass. Long. Home late. Sunday: Easter mass. Then hosting Easter. I have told my wife i will not be very helpful. I may be napping while people are here. In other news, Mona has been luxuriating in having two entire litter boxes to herself. Discovered yesterday that she is using one box to pee and the other to poop. Was planning to downgrade to one litter box, but may reconsider that plan. ---

{{{ **JtC** }}} {{{mumpers who visited the hospital}}} I’m currently sitting at the kitchen table. Annie is sitting on a towel on the table next to me. She’s actually quite content. I’m a bit nervous. I did finally inquire about a job at the clubhouse. I sent a fairly well-written email to the top two leaders there including my resume and the certificate of completion from that class that I took awhile back. That was nearly a week ago and I have heard nothing in return. I am trying to figure out how to best approach them next. If I just show up there, it’s not a guarantee that either of them will be in. So I figure I’ll probably have to call the big boss. I have an appointment with my therapist this afternoon and I’m hoping she’ll have some good ideas. Again, it’s not as if they even have a position listed. I’m just kind of hoping that they can find something for me to do. There’s a couple of staff members who have more significant health concerns, so they may have to leave sooner rather than later. Anyways, until I talk to my therapist, I’ll just be here trying to figure out what to do with myself. ---

Yes, I am a RDOS living in Central time zone. I will never be up early enough to start a MMP thread. Have an appt this afternoon with the hand surgeon’s PA. My wrist is feeling better this morning and isn’t as swollen. Fingers crossed, no pun intended, that it’s a sprain and not a fracture. ---

Had to go look at my documents; I retired in April of 2016, so just about my 9th Anniversary as a RDOS. Celebrated by staying in bed until 8:20am today so couldn’t start the MMP, upon finishing this missive I’ll head to the Kroger and Jersey Mike’s for the usual Moanday Shop-n-Sammich routine. The swim-sauna-weight training followed by soccer practice to fill up the afternoon, then ease on into the evening. Great day, 71F now and heading to 84F without a chance of rain, so a good day to be out. **nellie** , go get them spiders. Take care. And interrupted by a knock on the door–Cook’s Pest Control wanted to schedule the annual termite inspection, they offered 8am tomorrow (I said no) and we settled on noontime Tuesday. OK, back to the news… **Cookie** , glad Sadie is doing better. **red** , hope they release you soon. Do you get a free wheelchair ride to the door? **lucky** , enjoy the mini-vacation, I don’t take that many what with soccer coaching and refereeing for 7-8 months in the year, but need to get out some more (a friend posted a new rollercoaster at Dollywood, which isn’t that far from me (4.5 hour drive), so maybe… **Pavo** , you suire ain’t retired, or if you are you ain’t doing it right… **Sticky Buns** , appendages crossed for an answer to your application. **wet one** , rooting for a sprain. Or a fracture, based on **BBBoo** ’s comment… And time to don go-out-in-public clothes and do the required shopping and eating. ---

I am unretired today. My boss suggested I bring my laptop so I’d have something to do when there weren’t any customers in the store, but it has been busier than I expected. There is good light by the cash register and a nice wide counter so I will probably bring my stitching tomorrow. I’m only going to be here for 10-14 days because she needs to keep the door open lest her customers forget about her and start going elsewhere. So heaving was the usual Monday understaffed chaos. I went to a local protest after work. Apparently the State Supreme Court sided with a losing Supreme Court candidate that thought it was legal to throw out some legally cast votes in counties the winning candidate won, if you really didn’t like the election outcome. 🙄 But after that I got Carmen some new wiper blades, did my Aldi run, and picked up an onion ~~for my belt~~ at Teeter.
