About 2 weeks ago Mr. Twylight and I brought home a 4 month old Mini Poodle puppy. We have 2 older dogs, a beagle and a bullmastiff. The beagle wasn’t too thrilled at first, but he’s gotten used to the puppy, and they have become friends. The bullmastiff wants nothing to do with him, and growls every time she sees him. We thought her dislike would pass in a few days, but 2 weeks later she still does not like him. She also outweighs him by about 100 pounds, and if she tried to bite him, she would probably hurt him very badly.
We keep them separated when we are out, and they are only in the same room when one of us is there to intervene. The puppy doesn’t bite her or do anything annoying to her, he only has to be in sight range and she’s growling.
I don’t know what to do, and any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rose
