At the end of the [Downy Dispenser](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1458/how-do-downy-laundry-dispensers-work) SDSAB article it mentions a price and address to get a device. From 1999.
I assume that this was verified as still valid info when the article was placed back on the front page? Right?

Probably not; it’s an article from 1999. And really… you can get one of those things at any grocery or drugstore for somewhere between $2 and $10 bucks, depending on where.

You know and I know\* that it’s from 1999. But how many idjits reading it are going to send away money thinking that the offer is still valid?

The actual product is still available from the usual outlets, Target, [Drugstore.com](http://Drugstore.com), _etc._. I still have one, in fact, though I haven’t used it for about ten years because the (relatively) new washer does the job automatically.
