I…I need to rant. I still love my ex and I miss her. I miss what we had. It felt so special. I felt so happy for the first time in so long. I miss her hugs and her kisses. I just want her to hold me again. I want to cry in her arms. I feel like I need her. She’s gotten over me, but I haven’t gotten over her, and I don’t want to. She stole my heart. ---

**GodBod** , I know how awful that feeling is, and I know it seems like it will never end. Unfortunately, you can’t go around it; you have to go straight through it. But I promise you will come out the other side. Hang in there. A momentous occasion occurred here yesterday. Since I built that cabinet for my office over the weekend, I was able to, yanno, put stuff in it. And in so doing, I emptied the _last of the moving boxes_. They’re all gone. Done. And it only took (checks calendar) 68 days! ---

I told SWMBO I was going to re-create the slat table. Of course, she wanted to know why. Because I like the design, she’s right (See what I did there?) that it would bake a good potting table, it would be easy, it would be cheap, and it would be fun. She proceeded to redesign it for me: Not fancy, as tall as the propane fire pit or the cutting board cart so she doesn’t have to bend over (I was planning on 12-inch legs), and we don’t need the side slats. I haven’t pointed out that a tall, 60-inch by 22-inch, table won’t be very stable. I did say the longest legs I saw were 16 inches. ‘How much are they? Why do you need them? Just put any legs on.’ She misses the point entirely. I want to _re-create_ the table because I like the table – even if it _is_ just going to be a potting table. I want to do it as an exercise to see if I _can_ re-create it. She’d be happy with something nailed together with 2 x 4s. The thing is, we don’t have anyplace to put another coffee table. If I build her something simple, I wouldn’t be able to try my hand at furniture-making. Maybe I’ll just make it the way _I_ want, and put it up on cinder blocks in the greenhouse. ---

It was a liberating experience! Today we each went through our filing cabinet drawers and threw all of the Apple product boxes into the recycle bin. My drawer had three iPhone boxes, three iWatch boxes, a couple of watchband boxes, two keyboard boxes and a few mouse boxes, along with the mice i had replaced along the way. My wife’s drawer was full of the same kind of stuff. Neither of us could come up with a good explanation as to why we were hanging on to this stuff, but it sure feels good to have it up on the curb awaiting the city trucks to pick it up and haul it away. ---

**FCM** it’s amazing how boat yard work doesn’t tire you out but toddlers will send you collapsing into a recliner. **GodBod** : I’m seconding **Swampie** ’s endorsement of **Wheelie** ’s point. The sooner you stop looking backwards at wanting her to hold you and the sooner you start revolting at the idea of dealing with the ungrateful wretch ever again while looking forward to the busy-ness of self-improvement at school, the sooner your light will start shining again and a less-awful woman will arrive in your life. Make no mistake; all your fond memories are of you being deceived by a scheming beast, not you having some idealized Romantic supportive love. Recast them as that and soon enough you’ll be over that shit. As to me… Had nice yaks with a co-irker while he was driving to irk and I was not neener-neener(!), then we had shevelment & breakfast, watched the crane guys for a bit, then had a too-carby mini-lunch/snack & was attacked by a nap monster. So repaired down to the pool & slept on a chaise in the warm shade. Tough to beat. Now awake & back upstairs. Today being Tuesday perhaps craft tacos at the usual place shall be had soon. As Calvin once lamented to Hobbes: “The days are just packed!” Did get my/our travel & hotel arrangements made for next month, and put in my druthers for work schedule to accommodate same. I hope. I’m pretty optimistic. The crane guys finally quit fiddling with the car & main pulley, leaving it pretty close to the center pivot. Then they rotated the whole crane around to aim the counterbalance arm of their crane towards the other crane on site. Which then swung around above it and extracted 5 of the 6 big slabs of concrete & steel that formed the counterweight. Then everybody went home midday. Tomorrow Her Ladyship turns 65. I shall be home and we have reservations at a nearby swanky French restaurant. She shall polish up lovely (Yaay!) with _very_ impractical shoes (double Yaay!) and the event shall be formally reserved and oh so tastefully delivered (Yaay). Great gouts of tableware shall be daintily dirtied (not my problem). And the bill shall be epic (not so Yaay but still OK). The other good news is it’s a short walk from home. Like in the next block. So the odds on her falling off her shoes & getting hurt are low. She wears tall shoes enough that 'm not too worried. ---

My Dad texted with the message that they will be at “the other house” on Mother’s day, so I changed delivery date so Mom’ll get her plant early before they leave. And a good early evening to all. It got to 84F outside and 79F inside before I finally turned on the AC (being a single retired gentleman, the amount of clothing I don’t wear when it’s hot inside and out is a strictly guarded secret). Did get out to vote and did my 500-calories of pedaling. The 70% chance of rain this morning disappeared to 12% and there is nothing showing that indicates any precipitation is due. **rocky** , glad you are happy (I can guess a couple of possible reasons), hope the cats recover. **Pilot** , a most happy birthday to Her Ladyship; enjoy the dinner. **Hippie** , I usually don’t keep the boxes, but do have a few devices that I’ve never disposed off. I think Best Buy will take them, might have to do some gathering. **Flyboy** , good luck with the new table, whatever the design ends up being. **talkie** , enjoy Sis’s visit, even if it involves Mom’s health issues. Having another voice/opinion will help, IMHO. OK, need to check the water meter and get the Mac-n-Cheese started, so all y’all take care. ---

Walked a circuitous route around the neighborhood with a friend ending at the driveway to work, he went back home, I went to work after which I walked home, had a sandwich then drove Hubs to appt with the Hematology/Oncology Doc. The first thing I did was apologize to the Dr for not asking at the last appointment if it would be allright for our daughter to FaceTime in during the appt. He was ok with it. She’s FaceTimed in with 3 of Hubs’ doctors and each one has asked “This isn’t being taped, is it?” I would never have thought of doing such a thing but I guess doctors are gunshy since there must be people who have and used it against them. Hubs has lost another 10#, 30 total since his diagnosis a year ago. Both his PCP and H/O Doc are concerned. PCP told him to drink a milkshake every night. I tried to make them and get him to drink them. He did for about 3-4 days but then wasn’t interested. Today the Doc was insistent that he up his calorie intake significantly. I have to go buy some Ensure for him; also be sure he eats more frequent smaller meals. On the way home we stopped at Rhapsody which is a Hungarian restaurant. Hubs likes their breaded pork chop plate. I had Beef Stroganoff. Since we’ve been home, I’ve made him a blueberry milkshake, well more of a smoothie because we’re almost out of vanilla ice cream.
