If I’m lucky, when they get home they’ll ask me to come over even though it’s a work week night to wrangle the kidlets while the more able-bodied grownups unload, unpack and start the laundry. That and by then the adults are so shelled-shocked by being in a plane, hotel room or doing close-quartered sight-seeing for nine straight days with a 3 year old and a 7 year old that my daughter and SIL are overjoyed to shove the kidlet/hooligans in my general direction and abscond to the laundry room two floors away for 3 hours. I’ve never told my daughter and SIL that their offspring are equally glad for a little absence making the heart grow fonder.
