I thought Merlin was three _hours_ ahead of us, not three _months!_ Seriously, it won’t get into the 90s (maybe) until August here.

Naps are the best part of my day!

I finally heard from my friend’s daughter. She had typed something to send to me and had forgot to press send. He’s at rehab and she’s hanging in there.

I am so tired and feeling very overwhelmed. Amidst all the other fun and excitement I’m switching from one antidepressant to another. I’m feeling the withdrawal symptoms from the one and have just started the other. So it’s pretty lousy right now.

Ok, I think I’ll go to bed since I am guaranteed to wake up in about 5 hours anyways.

I can’t remember the last time I had a nap. Unless it was last October when I got COVID on our first (and last) cruise. But having a nap just to take a nap? It’s been years.

Despite his many tattoos and watching me get inked several times, Hubs passes out every time he gets a shot. When he was getting cortisone shots for his shoulders, he told everyone they were painless. That’s because he never felt them, LOL!!!

His docs told him to try to move as much as possible to get everything lubricated.

I hope your pain lessons soon.

I’m sorry about your aunt. It doesn’t matter if it was expected or not, it is always sad.

Well, dang. Wildfire season is here as well. Last I heard, there were three wildfires blazing away. The one that closed the I40 wasn’t a wildfire, but it did take firefighters away from the other wildfires because the I40 is a major cross country shipping route.

They are the ones who fixed Hub’s gaming comp and it has been working perfectly ever since. Thank goodness. I think the charge for transferring the data over was a little high…but I didn’t have the patience to fight my way through it myself so I guess it was reasonable after all.

People like you are the reason the car washes in town have lines out to the street, LOL! When I was working, I knew someone who got her car washed five days a week. She said she paid for unlimited washes, they were lucky she didn’t go after work as well. (I was going to get my car washed yesterday, it is pretty grubby, but the line convinced me that it could wait until Hubs did it for me.)

So, I just went to the dispensary and got my monthly limit and will do it again on Monday. That should be enough to keep me going until I get my medical card again. If I need to, I can always go to Virginia.

Oh, wait, you were talking about GG’s meds! I’m picking them up next week so we can try them out before the drive.

Hub’s feels comfortable procrastinating because _someone_ always got shit done despite him. That same someone has been letting him fail recently and intends to do it again. If he has to stay in AZ during the summer because he is too busy playing the latest D4 season, well, that is what will happen.

And this is the big problem. George always followed Missy’s lead. Missy pouted in the car, so if she was still here, George would pout as well.

I do plan to cover his crate with her blankie, hopefully it still smells strong enough to calm him.

Thanks for the good wishes, this is going to be so stressful. Plus, I probably won’t have time to do any stitching when I’m not driving because I’ll be focused on him or sleeping and half an hour of stitching just helps me relax so much.

The end result will be worth it, though.

I want to thank those who have expressed sympathy for the tragedy that has happened to my friend and her family. I have just discovered something I can’t understand though.

I noticed that online articles for this story list it as happening over two weeks ago, but when I saw the news story on television at _ **noon today** _ it seemed to be being reported as having just happened. And if the husband died over two weeks ago I’m surprised there is no obituary for him in the local paper.

Something messed up has happened, but I’m not going to try to find out because it’s not really my business. If I contact the church it may seem like I’m being nosy, but I do wish to express my concern somehow. She’s the kind of woman who deserves to get as much help as she has given.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/53f with a predicted high of 18c/65f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “This weather is sort of like a fucking Datsun 310 from 1981 with a fucking rusted hole in the floor. I know, because I fucking had one.” Really? Doesn’t seem that bad to me, it was pleasant enough outside this morning on my trek to campus. I have the window open and there are birds chirping out there.

**Cupcakes** I’m so sorry to hear about your friends, that must have been such an awful thing to find out about.

**doggio** you must have caused Spot some serious kitchen trauma! The Invisible Mole People have now allied themselves with the Lurking Bagel Monster…

**nellie** you are the best renegade I know 🙂

**Sticky Buns** I am kind of jealous of people who can nap. If I try, I doze for a bit and wake up feeling grotty for hours afterwards. 'im indoors is a champion napper though, he used to log into work then go back to bed for an hour, have a mid-morning nap, do a bit of work, have lunch and do a bit more work, then an afternoon nap…

**metal mouse** are you trying to challenge **Moooom** ’s laundry queen status?

**JtC** I’m glad you’ve found a solution that should help GG with the long journey to his new home. I hope he appreciates the effort on his behalf!

I am at irk and it is already irksome. Fortunately our team meeting has been cancelled for first thing this morning. We have a meeting with our student admin contacts today, a bittersweet meeting since one lady is moving to look after a different set of Schools (she doesn’t want to change, and we are very sad to lose her), and she is bringing the new contact person to meet us (she’s very new, knows virtually nothing and will need a lot of coaching from our side). For us, having a knowledgeable and reliable central admin contact is crucial, especially as we are fast approaching end of session which is the busiest and most pressurised time for us. It’s not the kind of time I need to be explaining to a newbie how to do their job.

speaking of fixing things… I have a tablet very nice tablet I need to be fixed …

What happened was when my uncle needed to go to urgent care I wanted to take my pretty much brand new tablet well most of yall know I have physical problems … and well I had dropsies that day and dropped it outside on our concrete walkway and the back came off… and I snapped it back on thinking it was ok … well the power button doesn’t work …It still works fine because there’s a way to turn it on from the inside but the power buttons broke

Now around here, no one will work on anything that’s not a 300-dollar Apple or Samsung …So if anyone has a thought lemme know

Wow. How does that happen? I would have thought if you can handle tattoos, that a shot would be no big deal.

This morning I have one of my last 2 PT sessions. It really has been helping! Also, I got a different style of HOKAs and they’re better than the other ones as well! Today I’m supposed to take my cane so he can show me a few dance moves! Er, I mean how to use it to improve my balance. 😄

Does it count as a nap if you doze off while reading in your recliner? Otherwise, I also do not just nap. On the rare occasions in the past when I slept during the day, I’d wake up disoriented and out of sorts.

The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve realized my time and tranquility are worth something, so I pay to have things done that I used to do myself. Of course, if we hadn’t planned so well for our retirement and money was tighter, I’d have a different point of view, but I’ve often said, sometimes the best tool for the job is a checkbook (or Zelle, or GooglePay…) 😉

My youngest sis is the same way - she’s got 28 tats but she’s a wuss about shots.

Very weird night. **FCD** woke me around 3 - he sounded like he was crying, but he was just making noises. I asked what was wrong and if he was dreaming, then he said something about singing me a song. I’m not sure he even woke to talk to me. But thankfully, he got quiet and fell back to sleep, so I did, too.

I need to get a small afghan for my side of the bed. I put away the electric blanket and replaced it with the summer blanket. I didn’t use the comforter - it’s just too much, but with the ceiling fan on, I need just a little more at night. Luckily, we have a gazillion afghans. I just need to pick the one I want.

And I need to run to the credit union today and deposit a check. I got $100 for participating in an energy-reduction program with our co-op. And it just happens that the registration fee for Roxy’s summer camp is $100! Coincidence? Well, yeah, but yay!

I’ll also go by Aldi to see if they have the dog chews for teeth cleaning, and I’m almost out of kitteh treats. Plus Daughter and the grands are coming to supper tomorrow so I’m going to get a loaf of take-and-bake bread. And we’ll see what else they have.

The carpet needs some serious rollsuckage. If it stays a tad overcast, I might even wash the windows. And I need to change MIL’s bedding. And probably more. That should make for a full day.

Happy Wednesday!!

Just finished cleaning almost all of the inside windows. MIL is still abed, and I just noticed I didn’t do the panes on the door to the garage. I also noticed that at least 4 windows have failed seals - there’s fog between the panes. Dammit. One is nearly 20 years old, but the others are barely 14 years. Looks like I need to save up for new windows and a patio door. Dammit.

Since MIL is still abed, it’s time for chillage.

And, of course, I’m bleeding, because I can’t do a simple household chore without hurting myself.

Well, I’ll find out in about 2 hours, have my annual check up today.

Not at all, I am laundering for one, and I wait until I totally run out of something, usually socks or underwear, and I have a lot of them, so once a month is fine. Major time consumer is how long all that takes in the dryer and this month I had sheets and towels to do so that added a couple more loads. But now I should get through May (or right to the end of it) without needing to do any more.

As for the nappage discussion, I find being more active, while tiring, does seem to prevent naps for me. It’s when I’m in full sloth mode sitting in front of the TV that I find my eyelids getting heavy. As for ‘lay down in bed for an hour’ naps, maybe one-two a month.

In the shot realm, as a kid I was a screamer and it usually took two adults to hold me still enough. I’ve gotten better at it as I’ve aged, but still don’t watch them put the needle in (they’ll draw blood today so I won’t be watching that).

As mentioned, heading off shortly to my 10am medical checkup for the year, I have been fortunate that nothing much has gone wrong in the past 3-4 years, do want to ask the Doc about colonoscopy test, a tiny black spot on my torso, and his recommendations for hearing and how my BP is doing, but nothing major. Swimming will get worked into the mix some, it’s another nice day, heading to 85F and nothing but blue skies.

**nellie** , I can see you as a Rousing Rabble rebel firebrand; does the lines “you can’t take the sky from me” ring any bells? First thing I thought of.

OK, onward into Hump Day. Have a good one all.

i brought in a nisse decoration for the office. depending on receptionist approval. i think she will like it… if not into the charity bin.

we have 2 bins in our condo building. most people in the building shop it. sometimes things do disappear as quickly as some one puts them in.

**Metalmouse** : Congrats on breaking the 220 barrier!!1! That’s huge (heh 😉 )

IMO there’s no reason to decide you’re thin enough until after all the fat is gone. If your lean weight is e.g. 180 and by magic you were there tomorrow, would you seriously think: “Gee, I wish I could magic another 40lbs of fat onto me. Being 220 would be Greeeeaaaat! 🐅” Nope, you would _not_ think that. Nobody would. Keep doing what you’re doing and get to a place with almost no blubber. Your heart will thank you.

**Niner** : Great lipstick. Cute tats too. (heh 😉 ). Agree the glasses are real cute and a good fit for your face. I guess the image of the staid librarian with their hair in a bun is … over!!!

Her shift last night included helping the surgeons remove a bunch of damaged colon from a woman who got stabbed repeatedly, and not one, but _two_ multiple gunshot victims. The third shooting victim got sewn up in the ED proper and didn’t need OR-level repairs. The other two OTOH …

And that was only the highlights (lowlights?) of her shift. Just another Tuesday night in the Big City.

Coincidence time … I just now read @Baker’s post about their church friends. Ouch and Damn! When someone commits an assault that grievous, it’s almost a sure thing the son was far more damaged than the parents ever shared with you. This was revenge, but it wasn’t even remotely _justified_ revenge. Psychos gonna psycho.

Ref **Legend** ’s story … My PCP’s husband was descending the spiral of depression, post-Iraq PTSD, and generally violent crazy. She eventually separated, got him restraining ordered, etc.

I fully expected this to end in a murder-suicide. Unless she was visiting me and my wife at my home as she often did for both solace and refuge. If he showed up there it was going to be a bloody showdown with either 1 or 4 fatalities depending on who got hit first.

In the event he shot himself at home alone instead. Whew! The best (or at least least-bad) possible outcome by far. Better of course had modern psychiatry had the tools to heal the poor man’s mind. But they don’t, so and he was destined to live his remaining life, be it long or short, as a violent and increasingly crazy man.

Everyone should read that book before they, or a loved one, is/are dealing with serious disease or decrepitude. It did wonders for my late wife and for me.

They have tools to automate all that safely. All 200+ of my passwords are in a secure app that connects to all my browsers on all my devices. Just point, click, and passwords like p^E\*RdwoNLiX2$EfQ&A@ can be used on every site and never be forgotten or fat-fingered.

Busy but relatively uneventful heaving. Apart from what appeared to be a booger on the one box I grabbed, and the leaking lab package. Hopefully it was just an ice pack, and I don’t become Patient Zero. 😉 But it currently 69 degrees, Spot has had his dry flavorless bits, I’ve had my dry flavorless bit(with strawberries), and The Lurking Bagel Monster is not stirring.
I enjoy napping.
