@The_Stainless_Steel_Rat : Virgin’s lounge at LHR is quite nice. Much nicer than their mostly raggedy second-rate run-out airplanes. Be sure to visit all the food sources in the lounge and have one last tea and scotch. @Johnny_L.A: Sorry they’re sleazy morons like their typical customers. Having rented storage units all over the USA off & on for 40 years, all but one were crooks. @Misnomer, congrats on turning a small corner w Bailey. Many of us from the USAF reunion brigade drove 4x4s and we often spent weekends off-roading in the nearby mountains I still recall the day I pulled not one, not two, but three Jeeps up the mountainside after they’d lowsided a washout. Big & heavy and 400hp has its advantages. That (“pubic”) is **swampy** ’s term. I normally stick to plain old Publix. FTR: 4 cube boxes of kleenex, 3 travel-sized Colgate Total toothpastes, one 3-pack of Dial soap bars in white, and a pint of light coffee cream. IOW … Wildly wickedly exciting exotic stuff. FTR: The first rule of Brazilian club is “You don’t talk about Brazilian club”. But if you ask nice I will curl your hair and blow your mind. 🤯 'Cuz I’m friendly like that. ---

Lady SCAdian’s father died yesterday morning. We’ve been expecting it for several months. She’ll go down to Philly for the funeral when that’s determined; daughter and I will stay up here to take care of the cats and the house. ---

Yeah, I usually dont check my bp at home but it was 180/100. At urgent care, its always normal. So I went in the ambulence. They gave me a pill for wobbliness. Then my first catscan. They found no cats. When it got down to 147/85 they released me. 3 hours in total I will see my dr about possibly upping my amlodipine to 10. Its 5 now. ---

**{{{herald}}}** Even when it’s expected, such a loss hits hard. Best to you and yours. It’s 7:30 at sea and it rained overnight, so the jeans I hung over our balcony chairs got wet. Does that count as washing? If it dries out today, I’ll put them back out. Today’s adventure is a ride on The Golden Train - A Rauma Railway Adventure. We’re due in port at 11 and the excursion departs at 1230. Till then, we’ve got plenty of time to dress and get brunch (depending on when we get up. **FCD** is still sleeping. Howdy all. Am lounging in the Virgin Atlantic lounge at Heathrow, sometimes paying extra for 1st class is worth it, I have 2.5 hours to keep my feet propped up and have waiters bring me drinks. **Pilot** , you know what you are talking about. Bought a book and a couple of papers to keep me awake on the 8 Hour flight to NYC, so a relaxing day is in order, albeit a lot of it at 38,000 feet high. **FCM** , hope the rains hold off and you have a great train trip. **(((Herald)))** Feel better soon **copprrtone** **JtC** , protest loud and strong **Nellie, shoe** , you two get to feeling better soon. Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 20c/68f with a predicted high of 24c/75f and cloudy. Weather app says “Overcast and fucking dreary. We are snobby lounge-hoppers when we fly, especially from Heathrow. Favourite lounge by far is Cathay Pacific, although the American Airlines lounge does a fabulous eggs benny for breakfast 🙂 Yesterday was stupidly hot here, I’m glad I was at home so we could have the windows open all day but it was still far too hot to be comfortable anywhere. The cats were melted puddles of fur and really weren’t interested in anything at all, although Cherry had her eye on a sky raisin at one point, then decided it was obviously far too much effort to try catching it. I have irk today but I’m at home again so that’s good. My team leader is off with a migraine so we are unsupervised today. I have stuff to do but little inclination to do it, might go and put the laundry on instead.
