My erranding was sorta nominal, net of not being able visit 4 places due to the holiday. three planned stops, one unplanned, and of course I bought one of the wrong thing, and itā€™s too small to bother returning, so Amazon will now provide the right thing in a couple of days. I really donā€™t want to turn into one of those folks who tries Amazon first for everything Iā€™d normally get lcoally, but Iā€™m sorely tempted of late. Planning to launch out for dinner here in a few minutes. Sunset in about 15 minutes. The earliest sunsets happen in Late Nov through early Dec and weā€™re now sunsetting a full 20 minutes later than the worst case back then. So now that in a couple days when sunrises will also be moving earlier, weā€™ve got the day stretching on both ends, not just one end. ---

'The sun is shining! I spent the morning trying to fix the results of FedExā€™s shā€“I mean, _cruddy_ service. My sisterā€™s birthday was Saturday. I ordered chocolate-dipped strawberries for her. (Some have an extra coating of light yellow with smiley faces on them. Perfect for her.) They were to arrive Saturday. FedEx texted her Saturday to confirm. But, as is their wont, FedEx yawned and said, ā€œScrew it. Too much work. Maybe tomorrow.ā€ Still no delivery. Now thereā€™s a sleet storm, and everything in northern Louisiana is shut down. FedEx is thinking maybe Wednesdayā€¦if theyā€™re bored. Iā€™m worried the berries would go bad, I contacted the company. Theyā€™er overnighting a new batchā€¦via FedEx. šŸ¤Ø šŸ™„ **Mom** , Iā€™m excited for your trip. We were in the catio, and I thought I heard water running. I dreaded finding a bust pipe under our house. (Itā€™s all PEX ā€“ or all but one, so they _shouldnā€™t_ burst.) As I went round to check, I could hear that it was coming from the neighbourā€™s house, and water was coming out from the siding. I donā€™t think it had been spraying very long, as I didnā€™t hear it earlier in the day when I was ā€˜right thereā€™ bringing in wood. I had to dig the cover off of the water vault at the street, and pry the frozen lid off with a crowbar. The ā€˜wrenchā€™ end of the water meter wrench was too big for the knob, but I made it work. Then I left him a VM and sent him a text. SWMBO told me to ā€˜just make somethingā€™ for dinner (but not chiles relleno, since they messed up her stomach ā€“ add another dish to the list!), so I guess it will be Trader Joeā€™s kebabs. ---

Well, we have ~8" accumulation so far (itā€™s stopped snowingā€¦for now) and itā€™s still only 14F out. Theyā€™ve closed the plant for tomorrow, so, sleeping in. I hope that the complex is plowed tomorrow and the snowplow makes another pass at my street or I may be out Wednesday too.This is how we deal with snow in the mid-south. šŸ˜› ---

Evening all. Decided since Iā€™m stuck in the house Iā€™d be a bit dedecant so dined on a bunch of cheesy breadsticks I had in the freezer. Iā€™ll just say 850 calories worth and leave it at that. Neighbors dropped me a e-mail making sure Iā€™m set, which was nice of them (they both lived in the South all their lives so Iā€™m probably better prepared than they are, but still nice). Clothes are all put away properly and I bought some Polo Shirts via Amazon as store shopping does not seem to be in the near future. Need to pack up things for Purple Heart, I seriously doubt that they will be here tomorrow, but at least the stuff will be ready. Otherwise a quiet evening is expected (as long the heat keeps running, itā€™s 17F now and heading for 10F with more snow in the forecast). **Bat Boy** , there comes a time in life that you have to tell someone 'to hell with you, I quit". Apparently that moment was yesterday for you. I think in retrospect it will be the best thing you could have done for yourself. Happy life and successful job-hunting. **FCM** , glad **FCMM** will be home before you leave. That should take some pressure off your shoulders. **Spicy** , hope MIL recovers soon; falls for us ā€˜old folksā€™ are no fun at all. **Flyboy** , that was a very good deed you did there; take three ā€˜attaboysā€™ out of petty cash.
