Got back in the saddle after 7 weeks of being on the DL. I didn’t ride my horse, but a lesson horse who is shorter than Ariel and stands like a statue. I was nervous mounting and dismounting but I did it 3 times. ---

Yaay!!1! for back in the saddle, even if only for practice. Nervous is appropriate, but so is success. And you did both. My day got a bit weird too, mostly driven I think by the early wakeup. My sense of both time of day and passage of time has been wonky since then. A couple of naps later I’m thoroughly discombobulated (which rarely happens to me) and I missed a planned IRL event I needed to leave for an hour ago. Which fact I noticed at the event start time. Oops. At least it didn’t involve a forfeited admission charge. Now contemplating simple dinner and a reasonable bedtime in hopes of successfully resetting my internal clock for tomorrow. ---

After my cousin’s second back surgery, he switched to riding draft ponies. Stout for a big guy, but much easier to mount / dismount. He kept the horse he’d had for years for his daughters and grandkids to ride, but his personal mount changed. ---

I went in to train. I tried to go in the back to clock in but the boss said, not now, the inspector was there. I asked for the tablet to do the learning but that was forgotten. After 1.5 hours, I had to catch a bus to dr. appointment. Will try tomorrow. I feel itchy. Theres no bugs, so maybe I need some lotion, summer heat ya know. Having a salad, strawberries from breakfast tomorrow.🍓 ---

The flea farms are less than amused. Shampoo has happened to both, as has Advantage. Both of them disapprove of the back-of-the-neck flea goop. Fortunately, they’re not inclined to groom each other, so won’t ingest any. ---

They are now also each sporting a nice new flea collar, and the furniture and bedroom carpet have had a suitable treatment spray applied. Let’s hope all this helps. ---

Have obtained a bit of “real people” food for my new fridge, which so far seems to work fine. (I had 48 hrs to report any malfunction, which threw my parents into fits of anxiety.) Sitting outside for a bit with y’all to see if the bats appear - or if I missed them - then heading back out for one final errand. The bitch who keeps smoking all my weed must’ve broken back in, and although the Good Dispo closed a few minutes ago, there’s a slightly crappier one that’s open till midnight, plus they have CBD products and I’m hoping that’ll help me get some damn sleep. ---

It turned into a whole _thing_ and I may not have posted about it. Got in a minor argument with my mother over the color (I wanted black; she eventually caved) and a much bigger fight with my father over my (lack of) preparation. It’s a box, they plug it in, he acted like it was some military invasion. Anyway it’s a much less ostentatious size so fit through the door quite easily. So far seems to be working, and it’s very quiet. I know have butter & yogurt again. 🙂 ---

Happy Thorsday! Although, not much longer. I am up way too late. {{{ **JtC** }}} I hope you do stay. But I do know the feeling. I am glad **Nelson** is feeling better. Thank you, **MetalMouse** , and do look into some type of alert system. I once thought there should be some kind of cabinet that you can pull down. I had envisioned something, but wasn’t sure how it would work. Then I looked online, and there are pull down cabinets. Not what I envisioned, kind of expensive I think, but they are out there. It’s so true **Swampy,** there is good and bad in everything. Well, now it’s Friday, and way past my bed time. ---

Up early this morning for the last campus trek of the week, and I am looking forward to two 4-day weeks coming up. Today should be fairly quiet too, I have a big spreadsheet job to do that will take most of the day so I’m glad the two caffeine-fuelled stress bunnies are working at home today. There’s only two of us in the office, so no stress and no drama. 'im indoors has decreed that we shall do cocktails tonight as we have some limes that need to be used up. Thus I have had to cancel tomorrow morning’s planned gym activities. He very helpfully suggested I could go on Sunday morning instead (neither of my preferred classes run on Sunday) but I am probably helping set up our stall at a local cricket club fete so I need to be there for 10am. Nice of him to think I would like to get up even earlier than planned on Sunday to squeeze in an hour at the gym before I go and spend all day outside doing other stuff. But if I asked him to put off the cocktails night, he would have a proper strop and there’s nothing worse than a Scotsman with a petted lip. ---

I have mellowed, somewhat, re the public invite to da cave for the Fourth. I am sure it will not be a problem.
