Happy Towel Day to you too! I put a new towel in Hubs car and then gave him a new one in his saddlebag because that is my tradition. They also got washed, but mostly I washed the bedding. Jolene ran across Hubs last night and nicked his hand with a claw. He ruined a pillow, bled through the sheets to the thick mattress pad and even left a puddle of blood on the floor. He didn’t notice, so when I got up and freaked out because I thought his latest scar had split open, he was baffled. He never had boots on the ground, he guarded nukes on Navy destroyers. I of course wasn’t ever in Vietnam either, my boobs disqualified from that sort of thing, but I joined while things were wrapping down. My father was wounded in Korea. He didn’t talk much about his time there unless he was really drunk or after he was lost in dementia. I will be spending the day tomorrow at the Capital. Hubs will go to his family’s potluck with a big bowl of potato salad. My BFF has been WFH since the world ended and has said that she would quit her job if they ever made her go back to the office. So besides doing laundry, I also ironed my Handmaid outfit and our stoopid linen napkins that refuse to stop getting wrinkled on the drying rack. They are linen, they should be nice and soft and unable to hold wrinkles by now. Hubs has been looking at exterior cameras (as **shoe** pointed out, our 21st century communication is not my mother’s “sit at the table and talk” kind of thing) and when I asked him about them, he said he’s getting tired of me seeing all of the funny stuff, he wants to see the UPS guy flip the FedEx guy too! That still baffles me, he’s always seemed so nice to me. Of course, I’m a customer and an old woman, he’s required to be nice and polite to me. Not to mention that I compliment him and gave him a nice clean fifty dollar bill the first time I saw him in December, and have a treat box on the porch for the delivery folks. Our packages are always treated with respect! Well, its getting late and I want to be at the capital around 1000 so I’d best be heading to bed. See you all in the next MMP. ---

There’s one of those motels up around Cave City, KY on 31W. I got to tour one once and you’re right, they are cool. I made 4 quarts of veggie broth, 3 of chicken and 3.5 of pork for the freezer today. The bones are now in the fridge to be picked clean for doggie treats tomorrow. The broth in the freezer will be gone by the time I move and I won’t save veggie scraps or bones until I get to the new place. ---

I get all sorts of scratches on my legs from cats jumping or running across them, but I don’t think I’ve ever bled enough to get blood on the sheets.
