There’s a Waffle House in Fredericksburg, VA, about 55 miles from me. I can’t recall the last time I was in Fred’burg, and I don’t think I’ve ever been in a Waffle House. In the time-honored tradition of RDOS, we had an early supper. The sun has come out, tho too late for me to get any yard work done. Maybe tomorrow, if **FCD** doesn’t need boat help. He’s got to replace some fuel line, plus reinstall the relay. For now, tho, just chillage. ---

Woof, that was a day. In early to start water changes on 3 exhibits, then run over to the warehouse, off load one exhibition of big heavy clunky things with shitty casters, on load another exhibition of big heavy clunky things on shitty casters, strap all of that to the sides of the truck. Then back to the museum to set up the incoming exhibition under the instruction of dithering coworker. Just make a damn decision already…if you don’t like it later we can change it. My back hurts. Howdy Y’all! We were RDOS sloths to the max this afternoon. Nappage, day drinkin’, and stoopid teevee is the life! Sup got fixed and et and then the kitchen cleanded up. OK, that was productive and so was haulin’ the neighbor’s and our trash cans all the way back up from the road to where they stay all week. Waffle House does make a good patty melt. There was a drug store with a lunch counter in Ye Olde Hometowne when I was a cub that made a good patty melt, burger, and grilled pimento cheese sammich. They also had lemon sours which were lemon juice, carbonated water and crushed ice. SOOOOOO good! I am even old enough to remember the patty melt at Woolworth’s lunch counter. YUM! Now I want a patty melt. **Lily** for a touch of Waffle House authenticity make sure you ask “Wachu want hun?”. **VanGo** WOOF! indeed! **shoe** what they mean is “we’ll be there sometime or other or not.” Also, free food always tastes best. Well, unless it’s fart blossoms. **Hippie** sounds like good progress on the driveway. ---

A drunk tried to grope a young lady with a sign and got smacked over the head for it. The capital police handcuffed HER but one of the other ringleaders warned them that we have a lawyer on speed dial and that we are willing to sue them personally in civil court. Ain’t nobody wants to get sued when they know they are in the wrong, so they let her go. The drunk staggered off during all of the yelling, and the young lady was released “with a warning”. **Red** , I do think you are right about the vax hitting me harder because I couldn’t swim, my arm is super sore today and I know that exercise would have prevented that as well. I’ll be happy when the surgery and PT is over, I’ve become much more of a couch potato than I like. ---

And a good early evening (well, it’ll be after 6pm when I post this) to all. Sweatage has been accomplished and the scale says I have lost one whole pound in the past week, so as a reward I will have dinner at Whataburger, using my gift card(s). Got a phone reminder about my Drs. appointment tomorrow, to go alonq with the four e-mail reminders I’ve gotten in the past 4 days. I know my memory ain’t that great, but seems to be overkill on the reminders. We’ll see if I get another one tomorrow morning. Weather has been fine, clouds are abundant but the temps were in the 70’s most of the day, so a pretty good spring day. And scrolling through the 23 messages (and counting) to the bottom… As for Waffle Houses, I have 3 within a 5 mile radius of my house, but haven’t been inside one in years. **Cookie** , I gather this is new behavior from your wife; is there something troubling her? **Taters** , glad your mom is getting out and into SNF, at least she’ll have something else to complain about. And how do you not notice a fractured shoulder? **shoe** , sorry the Internet folks stood you up. Any phone number you can give them hell on? And concur on the free food is best food. **Nut** , hope the new plant enjoys it’s neighbors. And can’t remember the last time we had a fire drill where I used to work. Guess they thought we could figure it out… **Hippie** , my driveway has a few cracks in it, have thought about getting it repaired/replaced but don’t have the dollars right now. Hopefully Ralphie will recover from his trauma. **VanGo** , sounds like you don’t need a gym to burn your calories. Take care of the back, though. **JtC** , I mow about every 10 days, sometimes during the summer once a week, but never had a complaint on how my yard looks, it’s pretty much an average lawn in the neighborhood. And good on the folks down capital-way taking care of each other. And it is, as predicted, past 6pm so that means it’s early evening on Casa Rat time, so need to put that gift card in my pocket and go forth to obtain burger and fries. ---

Apparently they ate both of the Hickory trees last night and just left a couple of sad, bare sticks standing in the field. The tree has been replaced with an apple tree. Harry planted a couple by his garden patch last year and they survived the winter so hopefully these trees will survive/not be eaten as well. ---

Well, that was uneventful. **Spike** was all “whatever,” and **Squeaky** looked confused and said, “Wait, you’re in counseling?” **Spike** also mentioned that he has ADHD, and would probably forget by Friday. **Squeaky** then asked, “Forget what?” He is now doing the dishes on his knees, singing the theme to Jurassic Park. I have strange children. ---

Late night final. Got a message off to the soccer coaches that I’ve been putting off since yesterday, so that is done. Outside of that and the Whataburger pigout, haven’t done much more and will be heading off to bed shortly. **JtC** , haven’t seen a deer here but some rabbits are around and encountered a snake many years ago. I tripped on the steps when I left for lunch today. Ripped a layer of skin off of my left hand on the rock wall. Took two bandages to cover it. I have a single, large, adhesive strip on it how, with triple antibiotic ointment. Half of a chicken breast Florentine, a jalapeño/cheddar pepperoni stick, and a chunk of cheddar/Gruyere cheese for dinner. And some red plonk. Irk was OK today; though I did take in an un-endorsed check (out of 37 checks today, I think) and had to do an error correction and call the member to let him know that his tennant needs to come in and sign her check. ---
