Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 5c/42f with a predicted high of 6c/43f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app declares the day to be “Cloudy fucking bullshit”. Yes, it’s definitely cloudy and it was raining as I came into the campus office. Yesterday ended up being quite busy after I logged out of work. I made breakfast and lunch for today, and then unpacked the parcel that arrived earlier so I could wrap the gifts that need to be dropped off with friends tonight. Then there was grocery shopping which was uneventful, and leftover chilli for dinner when we got home. Today I have a couple of meetings to sit through, don’t think I have to either contribute or participate in any meaningful way so that’s good enough for me. I still have the spreadsheet from hell to finish working on so that will take up most of my day. Tonight is pub night with friends, it’s our last one of the year as they are unavailable next Wednesday (picking up a relative from the airport) and I’m away after that. Still got a few things to sort out for our trip to Spain but we’re pretty much ready. Tea first though, I need something to prepare me for the rest of the day. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 38 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 60 and N.O.S. for the day. We shall procure provisions this mornin’ and whilst there get fried chikin N.O.L.s for today’s main need to feed. The rest of the day shall be spent in sloth, general overall uselessness, nappage, and day drinkin’ as is our wont. Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Woe is me! Happy Hump Day Y’all! ---

Another morning in the 20s - I guess winter is here. Dammit. **FCD** takes his mom back to see the kidney Dr today. I have Tobias. In fact, it’s the last regular Wednesday I’ll have him. In just under 3 weeks, he’ll be in preschool and my days will be mine again. Nothing else on the agenda. Happy Wednesday! ---

Morning all. Up early (for me) and have move most of the furniture away from the spot showing where the leak is, now waiting to hear from the plumbers. It’s 35F now but heading for 60F and no rain in sight. Not much planned for today, we’ll see how the plumbing schedule works out. Going to be noisy what with them having to jackhammer through the concrete, but such is life. **{{{Cat Glove}}}**. Hoping things go positive for you. **Shoe** , congrats for the raise, like you say your getting it because they value you and want to keep you. It’s more than something… OK, need to move the car out of the garage and turn the water back on to refill the toilets, then back to wait mode. Take care all ---

Shot day today. I’m soooo grateful for the shots, but I _am_ sort of tethered. If there were, say, a family emergency, and I had to leave town and miss shot day, I’d be in trouble. You can’t just walk into a clinic and say, “Hey, got any xolair you could inject in me?” It has to be ordered, they have to get records, and it isn’t available at most allergists’. **shoe** , Seanette is right. It does mean “Don’t worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself,” but Mom also used it to mean, “Today and its troubles are done.” I miss her daily and wish she were still around. Her take on you and your life would be so different from your mom’s. She’d have thought you were brave for moving all the way from Texas to Michigan by yourself. When the BBQ place screwed you over, she’d have been confident something better would come up. And she’d be THRILLED that you’re doing so well and got a raise at work. I guess she’d have been everything your mother should be. And about your mother, Mom would have sighed and said, “Well, she has problems,” because that’s the way she viewed all troublesome people. In her book, if someone behaved badly, it was because they had issues. Of the two of them, my mom would have had the more accurate perception of you. **MetalMouse** , good luck with the plumbers! ---

Waves at everyone. Yesterday got swallowed by needle and thread. I did read all but couldn’t post because my hands were otherwise occupied. I had stopped working last years’ mystery piece because I was stuck in one section so picked up a different piece to work on for a few days. A few days became a few months and now there is another mystery piece planned and I haven’t finished last years! I’m trying to remember what I was having problems with because there are no issues now. Although I only got 5 hrs of sleep, I felt much better this morning. Watched mass on TV and the priest had a few words that spoke to me so felt even a little better. Yesterday was the pre-op appointment and all 3 women (transplant Dr., our daughter who joined through FaceTime and me) were somewhat (well maybe more than somewhat) annoyed with Hubs for not saying something sooner about the health issue that came up last week at the appointment we had on Friday. The Dr said and I quote “I’m trying to get you to live, I don’t want you to die; I can’t do the transplant if you have any infection since the chemo will kill all your white blood cells.” So, then they took various stuff for labs and we had to go to another location for a CT scan. This morning, the Dr called and said that Hubs procedure (that was supposed to start tomorrow) will be put off approximately 10 days so that his infection can heal’ we picked up 4 'scrips yesterday, have to go pick up a different one today now that the type of infection is confirmed. They will see if the donor can put off the stem cell harvesting but if not, then will plan to freeze them and reconstitute later; they were able to tell us that the donor is a 25 year old female. Called daughter and she cancelled her train trip that was scheduled for this evening. She’s going to try to find someone to give her and Bella a ride to somewhere in SE Mich next week, probably the 22nd. So, I’m feeling somewhat serene now. Planning to take Hubs and go to workout at Fitness Center this afternoon and perhaps make some Christmas cookies together. We started doing that about 8ish years ago when we were in Chicago watching Dakota for daughter and her husband when they were on a trip to Denver in middle December. We’ve continued making cookies together every year since. Makes the work go smoother. We also need to gas up the cars and I tried logging into the work laptop this morning but couldn’t remember my passwords; I forgot to take a copy of them with me when I worked on Monday and got the access issue worked out with IT so I will stop at office on way to Fitness Center. (one thing was I had forgotten that I had to first log in to the VPN; it’s been 10 months since I worked from home (not young, didn’t grow up with computers); also I needed them to add the new office printer so I could print from home to the office) ---

Finally got some damn sleep. Like, the deep, heavy, restorative stuff. It felt so good that once I got up, I thought, “Man, I’d love to do thay again! I could totally go for a nap right now.” … and that’s exactly what I did. Expected to just lie around for a while, but I truly conked back out again. He said my hypothesis that a bit of turkey got lodged back there was probably correct. He said that happens with turkey, chicken, pulled pork… any stringy meat. He also showed me the ‘knot trick’: Tie a knot in the floss, and will get food bits out. I hadn’t heard of that before. ---

Table rental at craft fairs usually isn’t that pricey out here, are they an option in your neck of the woods?
